Record low marriage numbers for America

Postby have2fly » Thu Dec 15, 2011 12:58 am

Barely Half of U.S. Adults Are Married – A Record Low
New Marriages Down 5% from 2009 to 2010

Barely half of all adults in the United States—a record low—are currently married, and the median age at first marriage has never been higher for brides (26.5 years) and grooms (28.7), according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of U.S. Census data.

In 1960, 72% of all adults ages 18 and older were married; today just 51% are. If current trends continue, the share of adults who are currently married will drop to below half within a few years. Other adult living arrangements—including cohabitation, single-person households and single parenthood—have all grown more prevalent in recent decades.

The Pew Research analysis also finds that the number of new marriages in the U.S. declined by 5% between 2009 and 2010, a sharp one-year drop that may or may not be related to the sour economy.

The United States is by no means the only nation where marriage has been losing “market shareâ€￾ for the past half century. The same trend has taken hold in most other advanced post-industrial societies, and these long-term declines appear to be largely unrelated to the business cycle. The declines have persisted through good economic times and bad.

In the United States, the declines have occurred among all age groups, but are most dramatic among young adults. Today, just 20% of adults ages 18 to 29 are married, compared with 59% in 1960. Over the course of the past 50 years, the median age at first marriage has risen by about six years for both men and women.

It is not yet known whether today’s young adults are abandoning marriage or merely delaying it. Even at a time when barely half of the adult population is married, a much higher share— 72%—have been married at least once. However, this “ever marriedâ€￾ share is down from 85% in 1960.

When you reward a specific behavior, in this case women filing for divorce and getting alimony and child support, you may expect that behavior to increase. Thus, feminists go into marriage with the full expectation to divorce their husbands at some point in the future.

Conversely, when you penalize a specific behavior, in this case men marrying and having kids then getting brutalized in family court, you may expect that behavior to decrease. Smart or cautious men get to see the unfolding carnage as their uncles, fathers, and buddies get ripped to shreds.

Since we are not talking about a survival commodity (food, water, clothing, etc) the "buyer" can not be forced to purchase the "product". So, men simply walk away from the market. Lucky for us, American feminists firmly and stridently believe that men will always get married. The feminists assumed that their product would always be valuable and there would always be men lining up to willingly put on the ball and chain.

Best of all, even when marriage rates reach the statistical zero margin, the feminists will STILL be sitting around waiting for prince charming to come sweep their fat old ass off the cat fur covered couch and off into the sunset. In the end, feminism is a terminal disease, and living proof that when you take something for granted, it will go away.
How to deal with newbies that talk much but do little.

Pics or it didn't happen.

YES/NO

Cool story, bro.

Problem solved.

Here is another article explaining how the marriage rates in the US are at an all time low. This article is from the Washington post and make sure to check out the comment section. It's great to see men comment on how marriage is a RAW DEAL FOR MEN! Here are some comments that guys have written from this article:

"Why should any man get married when it's the quickest way to financial ruin? Wife, kids, minivan, wedding ring, wedding, house, college savings, divorce, alimony, child support, etc."

"If women were more feminine, nurturing, and tender we wouldh't be seeing these statistical changes."

"Talk to single men out there, and they'll tell you that they're sick of women with that "Sex in the City" attitude of using men as disposable props to gratify their own selfish needs."

"Women - if you want to get married - to paraphrase JFK - "Ask not what men can do for you - ask what you can do for men."

"That's because guys have gotten smarter and realize that when the marriage doesn't work, that these greedy women take everything from you and the courts help them do it. I just lost everything I ever earned on my own, to my ex-wife."

"I'm glad men are finally figuring out the game is rigged and that all of the odds are in the woman's favor."

"A man is a fool to marry. Though he is legally innocent, a judge will automatically order that he lose his children, 18 years of income, and over half his stuff in a divorce he may not want (unilateral) for little or no reason (no-fault)."

"Exactly! Our legal system treats men as a welfare system for women who behave badly. I married a girl from another country to escape this cultural rot, and if that doesn't work out (it's been 10 years so far) then I'll just remain single. I've seen so many guys get the shaft in divorces with American women there's no way I'd ever risk it."

"From my perspective, why should I pour my blood, sweat, and tears into a job to earn wealth that will just be taken away from me and given to someone who didn't put forth as much effort? Marriage is just another opportunity for a vindictive ex (usually female) to turn the screws on their former spouse."

Check out the full article here along with the comments at the bottom of the article.

"When I think about the idea of getting involved with an American woman, I don't know if I should laugh .............. or vomit!"

"Trying to meet women in America is like trying to decipher Egyptian hieroglyphics."

Yesterday happened to be one of the rare times I have watched the corporate media's "news" in recent years, in this case NBC and Brian Williams, which ran a short piece on how married adults are now close to being a minority. The spin of course never mentioned feminism, the pathetic condition of U.S. so-called women, or the totally one-sided raw deal men get in the U.S. matrix/gynocracy when it comes to marriage. It was typical Cultural Marxist fluff. The good news is that mostly only geriatrics still watch the "nightly news," as the abundant commercials for various pills during said programs for senior citizen afflictions attests. It's completely dumbed down now, "news" for the Idiocracy the U.S. has become, as scripted by the CIA and AIPAC.

I heard that American men/foreign (non-Anglo) women are the only marriage demographic that's increasing in America? It wouldn't surprise me. I would also expect such a figure to be repeated across the Anglosphere - Anglo women are universally crappy wives.

The numbers of marriages is still ridiculously high given the drawbacks of marriage for men. This statistic might be slightly encouraging for some, but it illustrates to me just how far we must go to deprogram that 51% of dense men.

Interestingly, this report came out at about the same time as the report that 1/2 of all Americans now live in poverty. If you don't have money, you can afford a wife or kids, especially in the US. In the now distant past American history divorce was rare and difficult to achieve and it was entirely disadvantageous for women. It's about options. If women feel they have nothing to gain by leaving/cheating/divorcing, then they won't do it. Nowadays, marriage is a no-risk proposition for American women. For American men it is ALL risk and no gain, due to the extremely biased divorce and child custody laws. I'm told by a German friend of mine over here that the situation is the same in Germany. Best advice: don't marry women from feminized progressive societies that have given men the shaft. Stick with women from traditional countries; their attitudes and expectations will be much better.

Very good post. I grew up in a suburb and my father announced one day he was splitting with his 24 year old secretary. I was 10 years old and devastated, my mother an emotional wreck. That was in the last days when divorce was still quite rare in the Ozzie and Harriett land where I lived. There was only one other kid in my grade school class whose parents were divorced; by contrast my toxic sister had 3 children to 3 different fathers and broken families are common now in this same area, which is still a pretty good place to live but which has taken in all the poisons of feminism and Cultural Marxism just like everywhere else in the US.

First the system destroyed Black families in the name of "The Great Society"; White families were just put on the fast track to ruin a little later, in the name of feminism.

You can have an overall belief in a mantra like that, but Generalizations don't really help the problem.

I consider Germany to be extremely progressive, ie: Progressive/Liberal is a bad word. Its not, Conservatives are responsible for wars, poverty, racism and bigotry all the way down the line. The solution is not picking sides, the solution is likely taking the human element out of such judgments.

As I have told this story before, the girl I am speaking with from Germany was hounded by her African boyfriend to give up the p***y. When she finally did and a of course a few times later she found herself pregnant. Now she doesn't strike me as unintelligent or lacking common sense, I believe this African fellow said his intentions were pure. Turns out he had two other women on the side and she has spent the last 7 years raising her son alone. I'm sure she gets some help from the state but for example she was recently denied by the German Military for a scholarship based on the fact she had to delay her studies shortly after her son's birth because she couldn't completely focus on it. That was seven years ago, what that has to do with today I have no idea but sounds silly to me.

In any case, she is not the typical Single Mother with no education. She has a degree in African Studies and can speak five languages. Much like a Liberal Arts degree in America however, she is looking to further her education by becoming an Mech Engineer which many high skill labor jobs are in high demand in Germany. With the aging population this is of increasing concern and has Germany considering relaxing some of its immigration laws so they can let in younger people to work.

As I keep saying this is early days and she contacted ME not the other way around. I refuse to go back to Europe with the same situation I had last time, details forthcoming.

My intention is to be married for all the RIGHT reasons, not the WRONG ones.

Sorry but I won't let you use Marx and his book(s) as fodder for your feeling around the failures of Anglo Saxon culture. Marxism as he wrote about has never been tried in human history. What was the Soviet Union was Dictatorship with some Socialism mixed in. Marx warned against the trappings of Capitalism and Debt.

So Welfare was a bad idea? Not at all, it was poorly designed and continues to be.

Black People are special in human history because of oppression and lack of opportunity in the private sector meant the Government was the last resort if you wanted to stay alive. However we've turned that leg up into a handout and while Conservatives demonized it, a majority of people in Anti-Poverty Programs in America are WHITE. Go down to your local Social Services office and you'll find the majority of people filing in and out any given day are Latino and White! There are some Black People on the public dole, that said its made some of them dependent on the Government for their survival. Haven't you wondered how some human behavior constantly repeats itself. Humans learn by example. So if for example you become pregnant as a teenager, its likely that took place because your mother was a teen mother, maybe your older sister. Anyway, others feel they don't want to be left out, this happen in one of the poorer areas of the UK where about half of the girls in the local high school were single mothers...

This sort of thing isn't sponsored by Governments, but have you noticed that most programs are poorly designed? This is mostly the case in Anglo countries and not the case at all in countries like France, and Scandinavia.
