Where is this going to go?

Postby E_Irizarry » Mon Mar 05, 2012 11:32 pm

So yeah, i graduated from a technological school in October...got my A+ CompTIA certification on their behalf as they do pay for certication Prometric proctored cert exams for all their students.

I was supposed to have my Windows 7 MCTS certification by now, but I had put it on hold due to not being able to bring the laptop into the shelter beginning November 1st, 2011 (a shelter enforced rule) in order to use it as a study aide on a daily basis.

So instead of pawning my 700-dollar laptop (which still works very well by the way), I was able to leave it in my assigned locker at that school because I was an alumnus by that point in time.

Around late October/Early November, I had enrolled in a program to stay compliant at the shelter (and they do not transfer clients to other shelters in NYC, which some allow laptop to stay in secured clients' lockers).

So all that time when I thought I was going to get an apartment that would be paid for by the City through the shelter referral (and yes NYC welfare office would pay the whole thing - I have confirmed that from other 3rd-party business sources), people whom were responsible for getting my paperwork for the interview I had at an apartment rental office wasn't completed.

So I had gone on the interview for 2 1/2 hours, the landlord liked me by showing me where the laundry room was...where the administration for the apartment building is...etc....like it's a green light that i'm going to get the place. Well long and behold, the final decision rested on the Dept. of Homeless Services down at Beaver Street in NYC.

Well the two people who worked in the administration of the Dept. of Homeless Services (were both Black males) went on vacation and didn't have the professional audacity to notify the people at the shelter that they couldn't follow up on processing my paperwork which would have landed me the apartment.

So when I tried to get in touch with them in person, I was turned away by security in the lobby the following week. Then when I tried to find out why my friend, a Black man, and another guy whom couldn't get his paperwork right, had gotten their apartments and I didn't - I knew something was up.

Then I found out a week later that the reason why I didn't get the apartment was because the housing specialist at the shelter I`m at said that I had sabotaged the interview (GTFOH with that bullshit).

They don't like "uppity" people whom know-it-all. If I knew it all, then how come I dont' know how to un-homeless myself. Ya know?

The moment Black people in a position of power come across as a educated person; they automatically deem you as a mr know-it-all. WTF.

So because I "sabotaged" my interview hence the housing had fallen through, I had let my job developer, a NuyoRican, at the school I had graduated from, know that it had fallen through and then he worked feverishly to find me a job via the tech school I had graduated from.

So he got me a job at a place that refurbishes used semi-adecuated desktop computers that only paid $40 off-the-books daily stipend that I was only able to work 4 days a week, right.

At that place, the supervisors were Chinese male & Chinese female, and my immediate supervisor was Dominican-American male, but I learned early, from the horse's mouth, that he hates being Dominican because he doesn't like how Dominicans conduct themselves. Mind you: he came over here from the Dominican Republic at the age of eight, but he speaks Spanish to his Dominican co-workers pretty often.

And if anybody knows, that Dominicans once they come to America, look down at Black people (and people that look Black) as subordinates to them, like they do with the Haitians as if they were back on the island. However, if one looks Black and is Yankee in the Dominicn Republic, they are treated with the utmost respect.

So on the first day of work, the Dominican-American supervisor wanted to show me how to use Windows Deployment Server 2010 on Windows Server 2008 R2. He briefly showed me the DHCP server, DNS, and Active Directory. The moment he showed it to me, I said out-loud, "Oh the DHCP gives out the auto IP addresses to all the PC's synchronously hooked up to the smarthub so that it knows where to deploy the images that are individually pre-configured that are already pre-imaged taking up space on the hard drive of the Windows Server that hosts Windows Deployment Services".

Then out of shock, he was like, "Wow. You pick things up pretty quickly. Don't worry. I'll show you more in the near future. I will send you link of where you can go and learn about how I, on my own, how to research how to bring it all together on Windows Server 2008 to automate the process seamlessly."

For the four days I had worked, I came to work on time, I had taken my break on time, I alway did what was asked of me.

Ever since I had that WDS conversation with the Dominican-American supervisor, he kept bringing it up to my Chinese bosses whom had told me afterwards that "everbody does everything around here, not just imaging and deployment".

So I verbally acknowledged that I had no problem with that whatsoever.

But dude kept bringing that shit up to them, and then the Chinese female boss woo'ed me into the office and did the following:

-Sir, I have to tell you. This is your last day here at the warehouse.
-What do you mean? I came to work on time...I never made a big deal of my duties and I did what was asked of me.
-Well, we feel that you are more of a software guy than a hardware guy. We don't think this place is a good fit for you but we will give you good reference.

Then they had given me my last 40-dollar check. I packed my belongings and left.

So when that word got back to the tech school that had gotten me the job, we had two meetings about my future with being affiliated with the school.

So they felt that I knew better about the first internship they had gotten me.
I messed that one up by saying to the supervisor at that internship:

A girl had walked by while me and the supervisor were walking on break outside the job, and I saw a nice mami with banging fat ass to itty bitty waist ratio.

I said, "What a fat ass! Wow that's nice."
Then the supervisor egged me on and said, "You should go for her. Wanna?"
"Nah. Maybe some other time."

Then another time a female student yelled in my ear while I was walking down the hall. I said, "Please do not yell like that again. It was very bothersome."

Then that student reported me for saying that to them.

And last but not least, when the computer wasn't working right and I corrected the boss (whom was from Staten Island and is White) by saying it was a bad hard drive, the boss didn't like that I was right and felt I was being insubordinate and added all three complaints to an email that had circulated around the administrative office at the tech school that had sent me on the first internship.
For further clarification, the supervisor sent that to my bosses at the tech school and the shit went viral there.

And then I explained what happened at that job with the refurbished computers.

So since that has happened, the staff at the tech school now feels that if I want to continue to keep my laptop at that school, that I'm going to have to get professional counseling done on me, paid for by the school, so that I can become sucessful in retaining a job.

Then one of the staff at that meeting said that he knows people that had blatantly made mistakes at their jobs AND STILL held their job longer than I have. And he also said that there's something deeply psychologically going on with me that is preventing me from keeping these jobs.

And then he said that if I dont' get it together, that it would become a recurring etenal basis of this happening to me. And that "he" is a male Anglo-Jew, his last name is Racenstein and he runs the whole administrative career and job developer portion of the office at that school. The rest of the staff are either NuyoRican or Ecuadorian (American-raised or born).

I hope I have made sense. Guys please fully analyze this and get back to me as soon as you guys can do so. I thank ya guys. :O)

E Irizarry, the problem is most workplaces in America today is like working in a slave camp where employers treat employees like garbage--and they know they can get away with it because of the bad economy and the fear of unemployment. It's not like in Europe where workplaces are more relaxed and they are strong regulations and safeguards that favor employees in cases of abuse and mistreatment.

I've seen the workplace environment in the US get progressively worse over the past few decades and I attribute this to the increasingly selfish and narcissistic nature of the country. Adding to the problem is the the strong feminist mindset of women in the workplace and the increasingly pervasive greed factor of corporate America as well as the mindset of 'let's screw everyone as much as possible to get ahead' mentality of most Americans is making me glad I'm unemployed at the moment.

E, as Zboy1 said, American workforce (especially IT) is horrible for basically using talented Americans (as special talented knowledge/product making workers) for long hours at work with very little pay no benefits.

My last job before I left America (about 1 year ago). I was working in a service desk center and I really did not like my position. It did help me get a clearance which is good if I want to go back to the US and work for a company in the capital. However, the problem I have had was the constant feminist garbage of black women thinking their crap does not smell (~metaphorically). I was annoyed by that and managers who lie to you and say you work hard and you will succeed and get promoted. You can but you had to kiss butt like you wouldn't believe. I was able to get the three standard CompTIA certs. Of course, they are weak certs but I need them to at least get me a decent job and once I had the certs, clearance and some experience, I had my offer to go to Europe. I saw good jobs in America but I wanted to try my go in Europe although as a intern you get a low salary and a lot of work.

So, about your problem with the tech school and housing.

1) Housing

Basically you were being proactive and actually wanting to make your life better which I believe the black people who looked into your request thought that you were trying to act superior which I am thinking right now, if they are on drugs because if you are trying to improve yourself, I would think that thinking you are improving your situation and living in an apartment and then moving on to better opportunities you should have a better situation.

The problem is you are in America and in New York. Since the city is feminist and black Americans usually screw over each other, this was likely to happen unless you kept low and waited patiently (even though I understand why you did not)

2) Tech School off the books job and storage of Laptop

I think there must be a serious ethnic problem in New York (it happens in Europe and usually nationality helps you but in New York it is ethnic mainly).

Sad thing that the NiyoRican screwed you over and the people think you need counseling. I think most likely you should not have said anything to the woman with the nice butt. However, the females saw you and when you basically told her not to talk or really be quiet about it, she was offended and told the school on you.

I would try to say come to Europe but the problem is that you would have to try to apply to some job in Europe with high tech skills. Possibly you can try to get something here in Europe. There are some good programs that can help you. I am trying for one in Vienna.

Well, its obvious to me what you should do. Take your computer training, together with your Jamaican porn star backgound and make porn websites. "Jerk Chicken Does Bangkok", something like that. All the little hyperlinks on the sidebar is where the moneys at these days, I new a guy that was making these hyperlinks ads for porn sites and he had no formal computer training at all.

E, it's hard for me to analyze this post because it's filled with lots of commentary and not enough specific questions, or clear cut problems than I can offer a solution to.

But what I will say, is that, judging by your online character, you seem to lack a level of reserve that would be needed to be employable in a hustle and bustle district like NYC.

By that I mean, you don't come off as a calm and relaxed guy, and that you seem to say and do whatever is on your mind without thinking. This can seriously annoy people, cause you to loose jobs, and some people will assume you lack maturity despite the fact that you might be more knowledgeable then them.

To add a bit more, I'm frequently around VERY successful businessmen, and the one theme that runs in all of them is that they are all cool, calm, and collective. Sure, some guys talk more then others, but overall there is a basic level of seriousness and level of reserve that runs through all of them. And from what I know, the higher in the echelons you go (i.e, CEOs, Politicians), the more choreographed and less spontaneous it gets which is one of the reasons why they got that far.

My solutions:

1. I'm not sure if you have a workout routine, but until you can have sex on some kind of regular basis, you should strongly consider starting some type of daily workout routine (then hit the COLD shower after) to help promote calmness, and help you feel more relaxed throughout your day.

2. Go on youtube and take advantage from learning from all the free public speaking videos.

3. Develop 2 personalities: One that the public always sees that is polite, politically correct (it sucks but do it!), a little quiet, and reserved; then the other that is the real you. I'm not telling you to throw away who you are, but across the board, just like attractiveness, there is a basic common theme that runs through likeable highly esteemed people, and all I'm telling you to do is to refine yourself a bit to capture some of that likeable character, because, in life, you're only going to move up in the world IF PEOPLE LIKE YOU.

E_Irizarry,

So, why AREN'T you spreading seeds all over the world, and getting paid for it? From all your posts and the videos you like to make, I thought you'd be perfect for it.

Dude, I'd love to be your cameraman and edit your videos. But you're a PC whiz, so I guess video ediiting would be out. But, but... you can't f**k and film at the same time! :D

Thank you guys for your responses. I cannot disagree with any of them. I really appreciate your time.

Update:

The straw that broke the camel's back: The school offered me an Adobe PDF-formed referral to go to the Manhattan Psych. Center in East Harlem to see a Mental Hygiene Specialist [in order to rid of my deep, down psychological reason why I cannot hold down a job]. This referral was orchestrated by an Anglo Jew whom runs the whole student developer department at that tech school.
And they claimed that if it didn't work out there, that I would be able to go to the Mental Health Administration of NYC which is located at 666 B'way (Broadway) in NYC.
Guess what, fellas? If I were to give in and go for the "gusto", then they might give me medications, maybe hypnosis, and worst of all: a strong Black woman
could have been my shrink [due to the location of the psych. center and the field of industry that we're talking about here]. GTFOH.

In order to implement damage control, here's what I've done: I took my electronics out of my locker and I'm on my way to my sister's house upstate with them. She said to bring them up, and she would look after them. If didn't take them out of the locker this morning, they probably would have cut my locker and keep my laptop, external hard drives, and microphone for keeps because there was a big-ass yellow lock cutter that I saw in the corner of one of the offices in the back when I have met with them.

So I'm going to look into free NJ training programs for C#, Silverlight, among other .NET Framework technologies.

If that's a fail, then I'm leaving NYC for some place else in the U.S. of Gay. I'm glad somebody else on here was somewhat thinking the same thing that I should do.

And Taco, now that I think of it, Jamaican porn star? I'm not Jamaican.

E, glad you thought twice before trying to compromise with them. I would say the best option is to see if you can find a good programming job. Basically, although I agree with NAguy, I think that basically being honest with people or expressing yourself honestly in America has horrible results.

It happened to me during my internship while I was in university, jobs after I graduated and being screwed by women (both white and black), and this was after I did good work (as a mainframe programmer but earning a decent govt salary) crap still continued until I left America.

Get the training and see if you can then get a volunteer programming job or something close to feel your resume. I guess you did some work in the tech school (volunteering or paid work)

Glad you at least thought ahead and wanted to leave the tech school behind.

Wait, I haven't seen your porn videos man!

I would leave the country. IT is a growing sector but in America you have to understand they are getting Indians (India) and Chinese to come over to work these now lower wage IT jobs (Repair, Help Desk, etc) that pay between $11-12 and upwards of $14 an hour for an entry level job. Its okay, but given most of these are not tech companies but brick and mortar type companies, you'll get treated like dirt.

Your story is not the first I have heard/seen where you knew more than the so-called management, made expendable and then as a token given a good reference...

I would continue your training but I would be planning a full time move. This is why I haven't jumped head first into the IT market nor any job market as long as demand is at its lowest levels in decades. Working conditions around the country are declining. Mother Jones recently reported on conditions at Amazon Warehouses around the country.

Not much over min wage and dogs are treated better.

Where to go? I don't know, Aozora is having problems staying in Europe. The economy in Germany isn't bad but its not fantastic either. Scandinavia is doing MUCH better, you might want to consider that. Iceland is almost fully recovered by saying NO to the Euro, EU and the IMF, put bankers and politicians in jail and are better for it.

Icelandic women like Black Men.... Not all of course, but you should get a fair amount of attention. Yes I know your not "Black"....

Nothing will really improve until all this debt is flushed down the toilet and that won't happen while the majority of people continue to tolerate this and continue with their minor consumption and con-formative behavior. The problem is the aging population is reluctant to fight back, they fear the counter-attack/blow back by the Government.

Dj is correct about getting your experience and leaving for another country. The IT sector in America unless you are a high-end programmer who works for the US government as a contractor (I know some who make good money but it varies) you will not get that much in salary. I believe that you can get good work if you work as a contractor in the US government. I was able too and when I was about to go to Europe, I actually was getting some good/decent offers in the mid-late 50ks which is better if you want a decent cushion before you get your experience up in IT. India and China are giving away cheap/low cost IT service desk help. Possibly this is driving down IT wages in this area. Even programming is going down because if an American/Canadian company wants to request for a software to help them manage pay or for a specific function, they might hire Indian/Chinese workers to design a program for them at a cheaper cost than if an American/Canadian would do it for them at a higher price.

You should plan your move since as you know in the past, it is not easy to come to a country and start another career. IT in Europe is still okay but it depends on the country as countries are starting the outsourcing trend that has been happening in North America since the late 70s and really since China started there cheap services (IT, and other products) over 20 years.

As, DJ has mentioned I have had problems with finding work after my special case visa (apprenticeship, trainee, intern) will expire in late May I will have only a Tourist visa until August. I am trying to get a position now and I will see how it goes. The problem in my situation is basically I do not have a normal unbinding work permit. I have seen jobs I can do with English and decent knowledge of German which I can do which relates to IT support. However having a work permit is the way to go but I will update on my status later this month.

Possibly you can go to Iceland since the government (though feminist to a degree) has ignored international investors (Bankers and High-end investors) from returning their money when they were investing and lost it from doing bad investments. Although some posters have said Sweden is a feminist stronghold in Europe (other than the UK & and Ireland) it is good for IT work and opportunity. Since you have programming experience possibly you can try for a freelance visa in another country? I believe if you can show them a portfolio of your projects and then the hard part get clients to support you while not being part of the local system this is a good idea.

However, you should first improve yourself by getting taking the training courses (in C#, Microsoft Silverlight and others if it is cheap/low cost or free). After that you should try to develop your resume by doing any type of work; even if it is volunteer to show employers that you are doing programming/IT work and that they want to hire you.

Also, I am not sure about other members but we are here to help each other. Normally, I had to fall on my face when coming to another country. I had help with my Visa, apartment, and bank account setup but no real knowledge of what to do if I wanted to stay here after a year. It has been interesting to see that I am not the only person that has issues with leaving in other cultures and I believe if we have better advice in this forum, more guys can make a difference and contribute advice in order to improve their chances of moving from North America, UK, Australia even some other European countries to do something better.

E, stay away from the shrinks! They are bad news. They are no better than witch doctors who wave around a rattle and chant. And, they *will* try to get you on some sort of psychotropic medication. Say goodbye to any kind of a sex life once you get on the meds.

It sounds to me like the shrinks are covering for your abusive employer, and trying to make their bad behaviour and everything else your fault.

Government programs aimed at helping the homeless are rarely that helpful. To justify their existence and budgets they need an endless stream of homeless 'clients'. Therefore, they have no incentive to help and every reason to keep you homeless and unemployed, or underemployed. Sounds to me like they don't want word of the agency's incompetence to get out, and you were the sacrificial lamb they used to hide it.

Best of luck, let us know how things work out.

Have you considered relocating to a state which is clamoring for people to fill jobs? They are not the most desirable places, but they are paying. Places like the Dakotas, Alaska, Montana, and others have lost population in the last few years and the are so desperate that immigrants are beginning to fill the labor gap at the lower end.

You are at the more skilled stratum, so I would look into that.

New York is a cesspool of unemployment so get outta there if you can.
