Why do women need men?

As I often do, I have been pondering general questions, such as the changing dynamics of intimate relationships (specifically hetero, my orientation). Ever willing to ask dumb questions, I wonder: What, if anything, do modern women feel they need men for at this point?

Generally speaking, men have tended to look to a mate to satisfy sexual and emotional needs. In general, women have less urgency in getting these particular needs met from men than the other way around (of course, women need and want these things also, but they don’t have as much testosterone/craving for sex and can get a lot of their emotional nourishment from girlfriends, while men are often poverty-conscious in both departments, even if they deny it). Historically, women’s selection priorities had been more about a male partner’s ability to physically provide for and protect her and their children.

Generally, men’s needs have not changed, and men seem just as dependent upon women for sex and emotional nourishment as ever. But these days women don’t have as much need for protection and provision and, in many cases, no need at all. (And now we have sperm banks!)

Around 1980, there was a bumper sticker that read “A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle.â€￾ What do you think? After 40 years of the feminist movement (and greatly increased male-bashing), do you think this sentiment is still growing? Or is romantic fantasy perhaps making a comeback?

Given that women generally can support themselves in our modern society, why exactly do they need men? Obviously, men can be good at catching spiders, fixing a modem or figuring out how much gravel it takes to fill a driveway, but is that enough?

Finances:
She's not gonna marry/acknowledge someone poorer than her. After all, this is why American women and foreign men rarely get hitched.

Sex:
Because eventually a woman who is a breadwinner, climbing corporate ladders, driving muscle cars, and shacking up with other females in an attempt to be lesbian is gonna wake up one day and realize that she wasted the first 45 years of her life trying to be a man, and it didn't work.

Labor:
Women don't even know how to sand, prime, and spray paint a mailbox that they want a specific color - let alone know the steps to changing a tire, replacing a fuel filter, repairing a drainage pipe, installing a computer, sawing down a tree, tweaking an electrical fuse, etc.

Procreation:
One way or another, sperm comes from MEN.

Security:
Have you ever seen a woman protect anyone from harm? Even their own child? Maybe very rarely at best.

Scapegoat:
Women always need to put the blame on someone who wasn't born with a vagina, right?

Status:
Because eventually, when she is up in her age and still without a man, her family and peers will assume that she never matured from her "whorish" days from back in her teens and twenties. An older (25+) woman without a man may as well get used to a life of being propositioned for quick, easy sex.

This isn't even counting the manginas who most American women settle with, who they eventually need to buy them cat food. In short, women can't do shit without men. I'm confident in my belief of this.

It is slowly becoming a reality. I can see men becoming a slave sex to women. They don't need us but for procreating, carrying heavy items, and fixing things around the house. All of these things can be farmed out.. They have labs to get women pregnant, people you can hire to fix your house and people you can hire to carry your heavy items... Men are pretty much obsolete to women other than emotional support (emotional abuse).. In other words, a modern woman's need for a man has everything to do with satisfying herself and not the man. She does not need a man. So if you don't fit her mold, lick her shoes, and put up with her emotional instability, she will find another sucker that will. Men are like disposable diapers to women now.. crap on them, then throw them away.

And you don't think men have always been slaves to women?? The only reason why Western society used to be patriarchal is that it was the only way to get men to hitch their wagons to women and basically enslave themselves. In other words, give them essentially all the decision-making power in how the household should be run, and give them virtually absolute power in other areas as well, so that they get something in return for giving up their freedom. Back in those days, because women generally didn't work, there was none of this "I'll marry him and then divorce him just so I can cash out and go f**k the bad boys I've always lusted after" bullshit that exists today. Women had to toe the line - or else be poor and marginalized in society.

Feminism upended all of that, and now men are just now beginning to realize what their real role in society is. Feminism as currently practiced in the West will ultimately lead to a wholly matriarchal society, and if you want to know just what roaring successes matriarchal societies are, just look at any given country in sub-Saharan Africa with the exception of South Africa. There, the men have no stake in society, so they run about as brigands and kill each other, and support themselves by stealing.

How long do you think the West (and its high living standards) will last once it becomes fully Africanized (i.e. turned into a matriarchal society)??

Women think they have the luxury of not needing men now because they can earn enough money on their own to buy houses, etc., but watch the situation change when an economic collapse hits.

Reality is men need women for sex more than they need us for that and that gives them great bargaining power, women love attention more then anything, followed by shopping and they need men for security...sex no way..they can get it anywhere anytime even if they are butt ugly.

Once they have security(money) all power goes to them and gives them options to select who and when they gonna have sex with and of course they go only for the best, because they can.

Just imagine for a second you as a man can get sex anytime with hot 8s and 9s....all of a sudden you wouldnt desire sex that much, you 'd want more than that and you wouldnt be as horny anymore....thats why male models are not into sex that much and they turn gay....they can have anyone...

Sooooooooo true.Thats why i still think to bring you're foreign bride to the u.s. is still the next best option to leaving the country all together. Being able to speak her language fluently is a must because from what i have observed with foreign women who come here is...... that depending on how old they are if they are from a low class in they're country they typically don't speak English limiting them to being a maid or nanny or working in the husbands business(bodegas,mini markets) for 8 bucks an hour.Most of them never drove or owned a car and they couldn't read the test to get a licence any way leaving them to depend on the husband to pick up the slack in these areas resulting in them feeling as though they need you.And the fact that you're bride will be in a unfamiliar country not having any bitch ass friends and if she does meet women they speak her language and are in the same living situations usually barefoot and pregnant and married.The best foreign women i see has far as being loyal are average in looks(cute not hot).

Get a foreign women who as education ,super young,great English,above average in looks,with an international drivers licence and bring her to the states then you may have a problem.

banano, absolutely true. have control over your dick then you will have freedom and maybe control over women as well. no denying of the truth here. some here think that foreign women are different. but no they are not. once they get power and money thing will change dramatically. so as long as she is poor and you are relatively rich things are good. so money counts specially on foreign soil.

Billy, as much as I want to agree with you ... I've always found evidence to the contrary.

Here's an example, a Brazilian doctor, yes a female, was dating a prior American co-worker. She was a part of a group practice in Rio and was successful. She took regular vacations to other parts of South America, Europe, and the US. He was a regular guy, albeit clever and a good worker but he clearly wasn't *investment banking* bound in anyway.

This guy would almost never get a woman from a US medical program. In fact, the other female American ex-pats would routinely put the guy down, despite the fact that no Brazilian men wanted them. One of these American women specifically put him down because she'd attended Columbia Business school which made her *special*

Perhaps part of it is the notion of superior culture. American female doctors only marry other doctors, seasoned lawyers, or financiers. They'll even put down guys with PhDs in the sciences, since being *a part of monied class*, is of importance to them. Of course, others date the Chris Browns, Bobby Browns, and other bad guys, to give 'em a distraction from their busy lives.
