I got a question. I was in Thailand recently with rock. There i saw more ladyboys than ive ever seen. Bangkok and pattaya seems to have so many of them everywhere. They are part of the p4p scene and work as freelancers in the same area that real female freelancers work at.

Thats not true starchild. There is some discrimination against ladyboys. You will never see them working in a bank or as a school teacher for example. They tend to work in artsy fields like hair salons, nail salons or massage parlors. Or they go into show biz or become freelance prostitutes or seek sugar daddies. Etc.

There's definitely discrimination against ladyboys in Thailand. How many did I see working in the government offices when I went to renew my visa? 0. So not a single ladyboy has a good, secure government job even when they make up 1-2% of the population.

I've found that ladyboys have become a lot more popular, so they don't really need to pretend to be women any more.

As for why they're popular, I spent a lot of time in Bangkok's bars and fleshpots. In fact I went out on the town pretty much every night for 6 months. As a straight man my feeling towards ladyboys is zero.

While some are pretty good to disguise themselves by standing around in dark rooms, using gloves to cover their hands etc. you will notice that the entire body is out of proportion.
