Taco, not all Pinays, whether from Luzon, Visayas, or Mindanao, are as desperate as the ones you generally see on the arms of white foreigners. A decent looking or better professional and middle class type will get pursued by attractive and often well-off local suitors and sometimes young professional expats too.

Did you ever think that those country girls you believe are going gaga over you in the markets may not have other attractive options for a reason? Take a hard look and see whether or not each one fits into the mold I painted in another post.

I don't know why everyone's got to bash Taco's statements cause actually he is more aware of Filipinos as a foreigner then most on this forum are led to believe. I've been living in PI now for 8+ years, traveling to all the major cities and interacting with the various cultural PI groups from all the regions. I would have to say I also agree with his opinion about hooking up with Visayas or Mindanao women. Language has a lot to do with it. You'll notice that Tagalog is forced upon other parts of the Philippines and the locals from Visayas and Mindanao do not generally speak it unless they have to. Thus, their brain will be wired different then Luzon Tagalog speakers. This will account for variances in their overall demeanor. I personally have had the best luck with Visayas region girls and to a lesser extent ones originating from Mindanao. I've had the most conflicts with Luzon originating women. Essentially, the closer to a true Tagalog native the more of a pain in the ass they are cause they think they are superior to other Filipino nationals. Tribal cultural warfare is alive and well in the Philippines for sure. Luzon speakers also have worse English then their Visayas and Mindanao counterparts.

I don't know where Ginger is originally from but she sounds just like many of the "higher educated" Filipino women I work with who get bent out of shape when you start challenging them directly about various issues concerning Philippines from a Westerner point of view and experience. They supposedly know everything and you have to cow-tow to their educated brilliance cause they are a UP, Atenao or LaSalle graduate or professor. They act all nice and friendly to you but they are really just as bad or worse than Western women is some cases. Imagine having to come home to this everyday parading how brilliant she is and how stupid and inane your judgement is regarding your everyday experiences. That's why most Western guys would rather hook up with a regular girl or one from a hard life background then deal with this kind of sarcastic passive aggressiveness BS everyday. A majority of these higher end girls think their shit don't stink and that they should be held up on a pedestal above their own people and yourself. Yeah, they may appear more feminine and act like a real women but their minds and opinions are f***ed up for the most part. Remember, generally women hold the power in relationships within the Philippines once they rope a guy; they will attempt to cuckold Westerners as well. Many won't realize it until it's too late and they are engaged or married and realize there is no divorce in Philippines or they take them to their own country and the woman is smart enough to know how much she will get in a possible divorce. The educated ones are the really sneaky "snake in the grass" ones. You can have intellectual conversations with them and hang out occasionally but I would never get seriously involved with one. If you are an independent minded guy who is more A-male type, it's generally not a good fit. She will wear you down until you give up and submit, they don't back down.

Go with the simpleton minded girls who can be educated and trained up by you, yourself, that's your best bet for a happy long-term relationship in the Philippines. The educated girls here are generally just too high-maintenance and already brainwashed with various BS and they will eventually cuckold you into submission. When I say educated I mean the top 3 tiered universities, a poor girl who earned a nursing degree is not who I'm talking about. There may be exceptions to what I've stated but for the most part THROUGH MY EXPERIENCES I've discovered this to be true with higher educated Filipinas.

BTW, yes it's an easy place to get laid. However, if you want sex outside of the missionary position you will have to go through a whole lot of Filipino women. Ones who would even consider the thought of having sex outside of just lying there passively are few and far between. The nasty bad girl in the bedroom hasn't really caught on yet. Negros Occidental/Oriental area's have a little bit of everything and most annoying typecast tourists don't go there that often, mainly just regular expats and guys in the know. You can start off at Bacolod/Dumaguete and go from there. I find Visayan Filipinos to be more fun to hang out with and they have the best nightlife overall. Luzon and Mindanao Filipinos seem to be more anal retentive about things, um I mean more reserved...yeah, that's the ticket...
