Big News!

Post by zacb »

Hi everyone! I have big news! I have recently launched a forum on my site, and it is open for business! Here is the link: http://mildaspergers.com/phpbb3/index.php. Please note that this is a special topic forum, but anyone is welcome to join and discuss things that are related to them. Also note that I will probably be a tad more stringent with content (but will still allow free speech), so please keep that in mind. Thanks.

This isn't necessarily a bad niche, in fact it's probably pretty good, but you should do more keyword research. Then write a ton of articles, at least one per keyword and like 400 words each. This is how google sees your site and it gets higher rankings/traffic. It also may help to get a better design for your pages. The black just makes it look empty and it's harder to read white on black than black on white. You can hire people to do web design from Fiver.com (cheap) or elance.com (freelancers bid on jobs). A really great system is sitesell.com and it's worth the price. Once you get content on your site and traffic, put up google adsense ads so you have another way to make money. Just a $2.00 book won't cut it. Seriously, I'm trying to help you out here.

Examples of Sitesell sites:

Seriously, content is key. Find good keywords and keep writing articles. The more pages you have, the more pages can show up on google searches. Look at how many pages Winston has on Happier Abroad.

Edit: Oh, it's a $20.00 ebook. Much better. What I said still holds though, keep writing and I highly recommend sitesell. Those sites I posted aren't mine and I'm not an affiliate. Those are just sites I found doing regular google searches looking for a car and the fact that I even found those sites on the first page of google was proof enough for me it works.

Protip: I you don't like writing articles or want it done quickly, just record yourself talking about topics. Then hire someone to transcribe your recordings and make any necessary edits. You can hire people to write articles for you, but they're usually low quality unless you're willing to pay a lot. You know your topic personally, so you'll be better writing about it. If you want it done quickly, speak your articles and have someone transcribe it. The trade off is time vs. money. This is for pretty much all work - you can spend time doing it yourself for free or you can pay someone to do it and have more time free for other tasks. I'll say more about sitesell.com - this helps you create a website that looks reasonably good (honestly better than you have), but it also helps you rank your sites and google and make money off it. It isn't just for creating websites, but profitable websites. So it's a lot more than just web hosting or even web building tools. The point of the service is for you to make money so you can keep paying their hosting fees, so they really help you build an online business.

*Update: I now have six members on my forum, and have made my second sale. :D Now to get more and move to my little utopia.

And on articles, I am working on that as I speak. I also added a forum as a value added service. I understand what you are saying about the black, but I would rather have that than white (it's minimalist, yet not too much). Also, I am kind of using a Kaizan approach to it, where it will be built over time, not just one swoop. But thanks for the advice. I plan on adding like 3 other articles (tailored to certain keywords), in addition to the two I already have. And no, I don't think you could even make it in Nepal on 1.99 commissions
lol. I have an affiliate program for people to earn $1.99 a sale, which is a nice amount, not too much, but not too little. Glad you understand.
