Which ethnicities age the best / worst?

Post by Johnny1975 »

It's hard to tell sometimes.

If anyone has any idea, please go into as much detail as necessary.

Also, can anyone link to something that shows examples of women as they age, and how they change?

Winston, what do you mean by east Asians (and are we still at war with them? Just kidding)?

The ageing process for women has got to be one of the cruelest things in nature. It's such a shame to think that a nice, fresh 25 year old could look pretty bad when she's 45 or whatever. Mind you, I think if they look after themselves, don't dye their hair all the time (which can damage it), don't use too much makeup (that can damage the skin), drink lots of water, eat well, stay active, I think that can really go a long way. I really don't think that women need to age that badly, just as long as they use some common sense and remember that their beauty is fragile and needs to be preserved.

It's not that simple. E. Asians have good skin. But they tend to have poor muscle tone. And you need to consider external factors. Cus in poor places, the upper middle class and above counter all of that.

I would say overall the best agers in appearance are people with a lot of black blood. You see a lot that in certain parts of LatAm and Caribbean plus the States. Blacks have skin which is thicker and more durable than NE Asians. They have much heavier bones and muscles too. A big part of the aging process is loss of muscle and bone tissue.

I've seen people who appear to be around 80/20 black Caucasian mix who are mid 50s to pushing 60 yet don't have a single flaw on their skin and are still in still in great shape. The only giveaway with these types sometimes is white hair.

Some Middle Easterners and even Indians appear to age very well too.

NE Asians tend to loose it, at least body wise after 40 and for many northern European types, its more like mid 30s but with a lot of exceptions.

I see a lot of prematurely aged people in Phils, tropcal LatAm, and other hot ares. I'm talking about people below 30 and often not even 25 with significant eye wrinkling and loss of body tone (in case of women, esp. those who have had children). I reckon much of this is due to the sun but in Phils., its a double whammy of that plus very poor genetics. Thailand is much better because they are often diligent about covering up in sun (even workers), eat better, and have better genes.

East Asians are the best. My girlfriend is 38, Chinese, and looks great! All my friends thought see was late 20s/early 30s when they met her. She looks like a teenager from behind. She has the slim/pettite asian body and features and has done a great job to keep herself fit and youthful (daily exercise, healthy diet, stays out of sun, etc). I see girls 10 years younger than her who already look a lot worse -- wrinkling, poor skin, out of shape. I have to say, a lot of it also has to do with attitude. After a certain age (usually 30?), some women just decide in their minds that they are "old". This attitude literally reflects through them, not only because they start cutting their hair shorter, stop exercising and stop dressing trendy, but because they lose that youthful energy and optimistic/playful/young-at-heart attitude and develop an overly-serious vibe. My girl wears her hair long, dresses very hot and fashionable (dresses, skirts, tights, boots, etc) and although she is a grown woman with a professional job, she still knows how to cut loose and have fun and is well in touch with her sunny, girl-y playfulness. Those traits go a long ways to keep a women looking pretty damn attractive and seductive for many years.

38 is not a big deal. Many people can look good at that age if they do the right things. Look for late 40s - 50+ people who look good. For men, it will be those with a lot of pigment in their skin, usually some black blood. Also, in Africa, where life tends to be pretty tough if you know what I mean, I've seen women in late 40s who look amazing, shape and skin wise. The biggest challenge for them is not putting on weight but many succeed. Some E. Asian women look good in late 40s. But their bodies and tissue tend to be very soft and saggy if they don't wear tight clothes or something that hides it. Menopause hits them hard too cus of their weak bones and muscles.

To be honest, I don't see a lot of Spanish blood in most of the Pinay gals hanging-out w/foreigners. The Malay blood tends to be very dominant there, easily over 90% with just a sprinkling of Spanish blood to the lucky ones. And BTW, girls in Spain don't seem to age particularly well.

Malay race just seems to be unfortunate genetically. They tend to be very short, have a lot of distortions in their facial features, and suffer poor skin and muscle quality. Now throw in strong sun and poor nutrition and you get a recipe for premature aging.

I see this w/some Thais to a degree. But they are often much better off cus more Chinese blood mixed in, much better nutrition, and better sun avoidance habits.

All my relatives that live in colder climates look youthful & have good skin .. the ones that live in rural venezuela & the caribbean islands look their age.
My aunts in the UK they look really good for women in there 50's their only complaint is no one offers them seats on the trains because they're trendy & polished looking. I would say they can both pass for 40.

I think if you keep good nutrition, don't gain weight, maintain your skin well & stay away from heavy sun exposure one would stand a good chance of keeping youthful looking until 60.

My vote for worst goes to the omni present 40 year American year old blonde woman who has found mecca at the local tanning salon. They repulse me.

I'm spanish myself. I feel weird saying this but my mum looks pretty good for her age (she's going to be 66 next week). I just thought I'd mention that, for no particular reason.

I think you're right. Youthfulness shows in your face, and the more you frown and fret, the older and frumpier one looks. That's why women shouldn't be burdened too much with stress, or by trying to be too grown up. Maybe this could even be an argument for women not having careers, although I personally don't agree with that. I think there should be a reasonable balance between healthy stress / challenges and being too stressed.

But ultimately, as long as the woman in question looks after herself, I don't think genetics needs to become a huge factor. Am I right, or am I barking up the wrong tree? Winston? Anyone else? What do you think? I'm sure that the following :

Drinking plenty of water
Eating well (cut down on processed / fatty / fried food and avoiding too much salt and sugar)
Keeping active
Being youthful and fairly carefree and content
Looking after their skin with natural products
Not too much makeup (damages skin)
Not too much hair dying (damages hair)
etc

...would make gentics quite irrelevant. I'm looking for reassurance. Someone tell me I'm right.

Was at a bar tonigh, saw a older lovely looking lady, heard her accent and knew she was from E Europe. Found out she was from Lithuania. She had grey hair showing from the sides, but she looked amazing. To bad when I tried to talk to her, she would leave the conversation. Guess the whole American culture influenced her.
