They seem to think there's a point in reporting it.

They would report anything that moves, as per post above. There are evil bitches and evil men, they plot to kill on Xmas, Thanksgiving and any other day of the year. I wouldn't read too much into any individual piece of news, unless a pattern were to emerge. Even then, I would tend to believe in the law of large numbers and conclude that it's our society as a whole that is descending into utter hell.
