Boyhood heroes who in fact suck

Post by Cornfed » April 7th, 2014, 1:52 am

Like most boys growing up, I idolized certain men, but that seems to have turned out to be a mistake. In this age, there perhaps are no real heroes, or if there are they are probably chained together at the bottom of the sea. Off the top of my head, here are some of my boyhood heroes:

Arnold Schwarzenegger: Literal and figurative whore to the establishment.
Milton Friedman: Hand-rubbing Jew.
PJ O'Rouke: Shill for the Repugs.

I guess in this sick age you can't rely on role models and you have to make your own way in this world.

My father, it took me decades to figure out just how shallow a man he was. I still love him even though he is your typical human a$$hole and one of the reasons our world looks the way it does.

I never idolized anyone. I always fantasized about being an idol.
