Awesome story. The key is to get started and be social. Lots of people overseas enjoy human interaction and it will be easy to make friends and find work. Getting started is the secret.

Supposedly he is getting odd jobs- working, that is. Does he have a work visa in those countries? If not, then he is working illegally and can be busted and jailed. Somehow this point has been missed.
