Having fun
British people can't seem to have fun without breaking something, ruining something, taking the piss out of (making fun of) something or someone, starting trouble or somehow causing a scene. Aggression and sarcasm are the order of the day.
I think it's partly because they work mon-fri 9-5 at shitty jobs that they hate and then at the weekend all they want to do is act stupid and let off steam, and partly because they're idiots. It's just part of the culture.
When you go out at night in the UK there's usually a sense of danger, like someone could just come up to you and start trouble at any time. It's not always bad, but it's a common thing.

I thought you were referring to some depressed post-industrial area like Middlesborough or the ever-infamous Pymouth or Liverpool. Never had a problem in London. I have learned that distance and sarcasm are two tools Brits use to mask their innate insecurity. So is, for example, their inability to look at somebody in the eyes for more than a second without 1) looking away or 2) pulling their best embarrassed smiles.Johnny1975 wrote:London.publicduende wrote:Which part of the UK do you live in, Johhny?

Re: Having fun
Living things aim to discharge their strength and express their 'will to power' (a pouring-out of expansive energy) which, quite naturally, can entail danger, pain, deception and masks. What counts as a preferable and legitimate action depends upon the kind of person one is. Whether one is strong, healthy, powerful and overflowing with ascending life, or whether one is weak, sick and on the declineJohnny1975 wrote:British people can't seem to have fun without breaking something, ruining something, taking the piss out of (making fun of) something or someone, starting trouble or somehow causing a scene.
