Not sure if this video was ever posted on this forum, but I wanted to post this video here as it deserves the most exposure. It's a fairly insightful documentary called, The Science of Lust. Over the 40 mins or so, the documentary goes through different experiments and sheds light on how lust, or sexual attraction effects men and women.
For me, the most interesting experiment was the one where they hooked up a woman to an EKG machine, and even used a special device inserted inside her vagina to measure blood flow, and was then shown images ranging from sexual to nonsexual, and even though her body responded to the sexual images, and she became aroused, her mind or cultural inculcation did not permit her to fully acknowledge her sexual arousal. This gives so much insight as to why so many American women need to get drunk, or high, just to feel OK about having sex.
