What are you guys smoking? Women started to go really bad in the 1980s when greed and selfishness became the norm. They were still feminine and dateable in the 1970s. Yeah there was women's lib in the 70s but men could still date and marry decent women.

The 1990s were the worse. I was ready to start dating but every American girl was unattainable and too good for me and made excuses not to date me.

I disagree. Woody Allen was one of the first to acknowledge American women were indeed changing in the 1970's making dating more difficult.

Canadian band "The Guess Who" started warning men in January 1970 with the not so subtle hit song "American Woman". However, American men largely ignored this warning so Lenny Kravitz took up the cause in the 90's.

I do not think so, around 1970 women in Europe were already totally into feminism, which means multiple boyfriends, disrespect of fathers, making fun out of boys of same age who could not give them money in return of sexual favors, some girls were very scornful and violent bullies and often also into theft etc. etc.

I can only say, women in Western Europe were pretty bad past WWII, as far as I can remember back as a child. However such behavior was not supported by law.

There was still divorce/fault and the cheating woman received nothing, women were not much willing to work, but got less salary, abortion was still something considered as bad behavior and as very last resort and not like a form of life-style nowadays etc.

It was also not so easy to travel, airfares were very expensive, nothing like internet to collect information, everywhere visa required, no international banking system like ATMs, dating abroad was difficult.

Might be 1970 was different from 2014, but for sure not better for any young man who was looking for a serious relationship, at least not in Central Europe.

You can't really point to any one moment when women went bad. That's like trying to pinpoint the exact moment when a carton of milk went bad. One big shift was the ratification in 1920 of the Nineteenth Amendment, when suffrage was extended to women across the United States. The next big shift was during WW2, when "Rosie the Riveter" became an American icon. Then along came women's lib in the 60's and Roe vs. Wade in the 70's. Now, a shift that I personally witnessed happened around the year 2000, when Western women lost their physical attractiveness, because they were taught that their appearance shouldn't matter and men were shamed into believing that they should be willing to accept morbidly obese, tattooed, short-haired, slovenly-dressed skanks. American women in the 80's and 90's were trash, but at least they were nice to look at. Now, they got NOTHING. Even female movie stars and models aren't that great looking anymore.

From the 60s/70s, here's Raquel Welch. Can you say ... Miss USA winner?

And here's our Julia Roberts. Can you say ... just like any gal at the bus stop?

Many years ago, the Best Picture of 1999, "American Beauty", telegraphed the message of Happier Abroad to the world.

Beware of long term engagements with AWs, you may find yourself in a coffin.

AB discussion thread

BTW, despite settling down with an AW, myself, the warning is still in effect.

It was two pronged, one was against the govt ("I don't need your war machines, I don't need your ghetto scenes")

but it also it had the hammer on AWs as well ("American woman, mama let me be" & "I got more important things to do
Than spend my time growin' old with you")

Most guys in the 70's assumed that American women were the best in the world just because James Bond was banging them. Little did they know, they would soon start losing everything in divorce court. However, giving out diamond rings to whores is not something James Bond was noted for.

So so true

That's actually a GOOD picture of her.
BTW in case S Parc's link is still not working here's another:

My personal "bete noire" (that one goes out to S Parc) is Sandra Bullock. I find NOTHING appealing about her, but she is shoved down our throats in multiple movies. I suppose that in terms of sheer quantity of inappropriate castings in big budget movies, Julia Roberts is the worst offender though.

Totally agree about Julia Roberts. She was attractive in Pretty Woman 24 years ago, but ever since then she's been average-looking at best. Where oh where are the Sophia Lorens of yesteryear?

What's interesting is that both scenarios are correct. At best, Julia was cute in "Pretty Woman" and Sandra, in "Speed", now a generation ago. Since then, both have been overcasted, as America's sweethearts in all kinds of movies and I just don't get it. Neither have got acting abilities nor the looks, of anything other than the average gal down the street. Sure, if they simply want average, then both Julia and Sandra fit the bill but average doesn't mean the A-list for Hollywood. And finally, what about "Erin Brockovich" is meaningful enough, to garner Julia an Oscar?

There was one movie, however, which did expose Julia a bit, and that was "Notting Hill".

In it, she was basically playing a facsimile of herself, a Hollywood A-list, while attempting to date a white collar/working class version of Hugh Grant in London.

What was interesting about the movie was that the ordinary British folks, were no worse looking than her but somehow, they kept insisting that she was unbelievably beautiful. Anyone who wasn't blind could tell that she didn't stand out, among any of the regular ppl out there. For me, that was so patently obvious that "Notting Hill" should have said one thing, and that was that Julia Roberts was overrated in every way. If it were Raquel Welch instead, she'd need security details to protect her (as well as Hugh Grant [ since ppl would be jealous ]) from the men in London.

It's not the fault of mainstream men. The illuminati may have infiltrated all major countries and is carrying out their agenda. They want to depopulate the world and have said so publicly. With everything becoming automated and with transhumanism coming after the information age that we are in now, the global elite have no need for a large population. Feminism helps to depopulate societies. The elite don't care about human rights.

That's what many intellectual conspiracy theorists say.
