Well, I can't really vote yes or no to that poll.

I can't vote no, because I do want them gone, and I'm not a basher.

But I can't vote yes either, because the fact is that they've been bashing you and harassing you for years. And as much as I like you, your response to them coming on to your board to bash you has been less than compelling/effective. It's the same 5 or 6 people who have been repeating themselves over and over again for the last X number of years, and at that point, once they show up on your board, your home base, you need to do either one of two things.

1.) Call in your allies to bash them into oblivion.

2.) Ban them utterly the second they step onto your board, and make sure they stay banned.

Here's the facts Winston:

Regarding option 1:

I've heard that you have a lot of list members, but I don't know how well connected they are with you, or how loyal they are to you.

As for me, I have a no-holds-barred anti-Marxist, anti-feminist, anti-socialist, pro-Poland blog that your bashers found out about. (I'm not going to link to it on your forum because you say you're a positive person Wu who likes to have positive experiences, and you say that the forum should stay positive, and as for my blog I really don't hold back on what I have to say, and it will more likely than not come off to you and other Positive, Progressive people as having a negative slant.)

Anyway, they didn't like it too much, and even referred to me as your "long lost cousin", but the reason why they didn't go on there and start bashing like they are doing on your board is because my allies are very numerous and we are very close, and we are very aggressive against our enemies. In other words, if the 6 of them came on there, I would call in 30 people and literally obliviate their efforts to bash.

Wu, if option 1 is not available (and I don't think it is in your case because you would have already used it by now), what you needed to do was go to option 2 and ditch them the second they step foot on your board, and make sure they stay ditched, by banning IP's, deleting all their posts, and getting mods to ban them.

Now it's not going to send as strong a message as if you would have done it at the outset, but you can still send a real clear message.
The fact is that they're still on here under different names and possibly also different IP's. And they're still bashing you.

Wu, you've got yourself and 3 mods for your board. For a board your size, 1 admin and 2 mods is usually what my friends who have boards use.

But given your basher and spam situation, you're going to need at least 3 additional mods above that to really shut them down. In other words, yourself and 5 mods.

Shut them down Wu. If they peek their heads up, have you and your mods ban them immediately. Delete any subsequent posts that they make. Don't let them participate on your forum at all.

Oh, I wrote my response as if I were writing to Winston because I thought Winston was the one who started this topic. It seems that it was actually gmm567.

Well, I agree with Lukeskywalker. Winston should just delete any further postings by these characters.

The critics have been given more than enough time to state their case, and I think Winston has done a good job of rebutting them point by point. But rather than acknowledgeing what Winston says, they spin more lies and hatreds requiring more time and effort.

If they had ligitimate criticism, they would have already presented them!

So why should they have continuing access to spread their bile?
