Need feedback! I found gorgeous hand-crafted Art that I can sell! - What do you think?
Dear all,
We just came back from the lovely mountain city of Baguio. While there, we visited some markets and found this new line of hand crafted hang up artwork being sold. They were so nice, classy, ethnic-looking, esoteric, contemporary and unique, that even my super picky parents bought a couple of different ones. And they have a contemporary ethnic look that American collectors tend to like. By looking at it, you can tell that it would add an ambiance to any room that it was hung in.
Anyhow, it’s hard to describe these things, so I took some pictures of the designs we bought and put them on a webpage to show them to you. Maybe someone out there who is well versed in art can describe to me what it is and what I should call it.
It is basically a square design on paper of paint, clay, and other materials, strung by ropes to tree bark that forms a frame around it, giving it a “suspended� look. Here, go to this link and see what I mean:

Anyhow, I’m thinking of selling these on Ebay to make a profit. I think they would sell well. They have a very “sellable� look, are hand crafted, and something that people would be proud to show their friends. And if it does well on Ebay, I might go back and get more of them to sell regularly. What do you think of that idea?
How much do you think I can get for each painting? What price should I start the auction at? Or should I sell it for a fixed price? And should I mention that it’s from the Philippines or be silent about it? The thing is, if I say it’s from the Philippines, people might think that it ought to be cheap and won’t be willing to pay much for it.
And how would I even describe it? I’m not very familiar with art terms, so if any of you are, can you tell me the best way to describe this hang up art, in a catchy manner?
Also, if any of you are interested in getting any of these yourself, let me know as well.
Any other suggestions and ideas?
