America Then and Now

Post by The_Adventurer »

Here is an article comparing America of 1956 with 2016
The Article wrote: In 1956, about 5 percent of all babies in America were born to unmarried parents.

In 2016, more than 40 percent of all babies in America will be born to unmarried parents.

In 1956, one income could support an entire middle class family.

In 2016, approximately one-third of all Americans don’t make enough money to even cover the basics even though both parents have entered the workforce in most households.

In 1956, there were about 2 million people living in Detroit and it was one of the greatest cities on Earth.

In 2016, there are only about 688,000 people living in Detroit and it has become a joke to the rest of the world.

In 1956, television networks would not even show husbands and wives in bed together.

In 2016, there is so much demand for pornography that there are more than 4 million adult websites on the Internet, and they get more traffic than Netflix, Amazon and Twitter combined.

The song Since I lost My Baby by The Temptations describes life as experienced in the early 60's. Notice the second verse.

"The birds are singing and the children are playing
There's plenty of work and the bosses are paying
Not a sad word should a young heart be saying
But fun is a bore and with money I'm poor."

Its self explanatory

Today pop songs are often highly sexist, that is its core theme is putting down the opposite sex, always men or boys. This was virtually non existent in the distant past. I cant imagine anything good coming from listening to music that constantly intentionally puts you down. TV and movies are often even more sexist obsessed with shaming, criminalizing all normal males and or portraying men as bumbling idiots or buffoons while portraying women as all knowing and always right. In the distant past it was the opposite with men praising women, this is really quite amazing.

I have not had a TV for over 15 years, the good news is you can make a healthy choose not to watch or listen to anti male propaganda.
