Cosmetic services in Philippines? Surgery, dental etc?

Has anyone availed themselves of the various Cosmetic services in the Philippines?

Was thinking of getting some teeth work done, such as possible pre-wisdom teeth removed, invisible braces, whitening etc

Also considering a possible nose job, or something similar like jaw implants, lip augmentation etc

A lot of folks might attack the idea, but if its good enough for a-list actors why not? Not really hung up about my looks so much, more so Id like to maximize them and enhance my own genetics and potential, as I think it can be very useful in life not just in dating

Dentistry can be found and found cheaply. But as always do your research on which dentist to choose.

No knowledge of cosmetic surgery. I'm sure it exists in the larger cities but have no way to recommend.

Re cosmetic surgery. Consider the upside, which is small unless you have something like a cleft lip or huge wart on your nose, versus the downside, which is big, as internet searches will show. "Leave well enough alone."

The better dentists in Phils are only ok for basic stuff like wisdom teeth removal, treating cavities or perhaps whitening. If you wanna do anything more serious like crowns, laminate, or even implants, Thailand is much better. If you doc shop there, you can find some practitioners with strong combo skills (occlusion, full root canal removal, etc.) combined with a keen artistic sense for the cosmetic side (crown material and coloring, porcelain or composite resin veneers, color matching, etc.). If you have problems which fall under both orthodontics and orthognathics (weak chin, poor occlusion, crooked teeth and/or lower face asymmetry), then really the only place to go is Seoul S. Korea if you want the best cosmetic and functional outcome.

Don't go within 100 feet of any doc in Phils for anything like a nose job, jaw implants, lip aug, etc. They are the least experienced, not that cheap, and have a lot of unnatural looking former and current patients. There is a high risk of looking worse with them or even suffering a botched job for which you would have little recourse to seek compensation. I live in an area where I sometimes see local celebs. around and about. Some of them look eerily unnatural up close and are probably victims of the most popular clinics like Bello. Celebs are not good role models for that kinda stuff. Even back in USA, so many in the Hollywood set choose crappy but famous docs in Beverly Hills and often end up looking unnatural or even weird.

Many people in Phils. get braces so there is a lot of case experience and a handful of better docs there are probably ok for garden variety teeth straightening if your chin and jaw are ok (profile does not show over or under bite).

But with you face, don't muck around. Phils is high risk for anything that sensitive. You don't wanna mickey mouse around. There are much better countries for something so nuanced which involves both a high degree of technical skill and a keen artistic vision and sense.

Agree with Rock on this topic. Right before Cathy came over to the States, I paid $1000 for dental implant surgery which was done in Cebu. Initially, it looked fine but it didn't hold up well. Now years later, we are in the process of getting the implant redone in Seattle thru a specialist. He was saying the original job was pretty Mickey Mouse.

There are many positives to be said about the Philippines. Say what you want about Filipino culture, but an overriding attitude in their country when dealing with many things in life, is the prevailing thought of "oh it's good enough."

If you plan on getting medical attention in Asia, many other countries are more apt to at least attempt to provide perfection.

thanks rock and posters there are some good tips there

my teeth are set very close, and i have some minor crooked teeth in my bottom row with a canines crowding and a canine starting to jut out, which id like straightened possibly or pre-molars removed to give my teeth some space

wont risk cosmetic surgery in the Philippines for reasons mentioned, but surely other places are good for surgery work, such as Thailand i hear has good doctors etc? Surely there are other good destinations too?

Venezuela would be cheap at the moment and world class doctors there lol.....
