I think Yick does not know the true identity of Ghost. The real Ghost does not wear a kaftan. He is about average looking facially, kind of like a tall Winston Churchill minus the flamboyance and intelligence. He's 6'2", morbidly obese, white and in his late twenties close to thirty. He does not tell the girls he dates about the books he has written.

And how do you know this?

The real Ghost is just a regular American dude. You would not be able to pick him out of a crowd or line up. He's also not as ugly as he says he is. Facially, he has the potential to be average.

He is about 5ft 9ins and 180lbs - what he has done with his online persona is slightly change details - with his weight - he is trying to throw people off the scent, he isn't fat at all. Notice he has still yet to deny anything - the first thing people do is at least deny it (notice in the first reply in reference to the Canadian woman - he edits it out - for some reason, because it is still visible in my quote), that's what I would do if it was me.

Ghost seems to be liked by his employer, he isn't a weirdo (for China anyway), has decent qualifications, if you saw him in the street back home, he wouldn't particularly stand out, he writes other books under his real name (which I am not going to reveal on this forum) but he is approaching 50 - which is a factor on why he can't get a 'Chinese virgin' if he was 280lbs and under 30, he would get someone in China - his age would be his biggest asset.

Yick and Ghost have been acquainted.

The real 'Ghost' is the worst dressed westerner in China - a hard won title indeed, the average Chinese bloke is better dressed than him - that is how bad it is - his 'preppy' style made me laugh, it would probably be a preppy style in Somalia.

He is average looking facially - he's got a look of Jim Carrey but with a rounder face, he has a silly scraggly mop top that he should get cut, seeing as a haircut and shampoo can be had for 8 RMB at the campus barber.

He isn't flamboyant, he isn't stupid either - he isn't as intellectual as he thinks he is but he isn't a dud either. He's pretty bright.

He is about 5ft 9ins-10's, brown hair, brown eyes, white, late forties and he tells female acquaintances and ones he is trying to bed he is writing books, who then go onto blab to me.

Of course, he doesn't tell male colleagues or accquaintances about his books because he thinks that some of us might be members of sites like this one - but doesn't weigh in the factor that no woman can keep a secret.

Conjo - why are you weighing in - you know nothing about 'Ghost' in fact, I think I deserve a medal for hanging back as long as I have.

1) Because Ghost has a very immature and abrasive debating style which lends to name calling which he should desist with and it won't get peoples backs up.

But the most important factor is people come on this site to garner information about making the move abroad, the problem is - Ghost is lying about why he can't get what he wants - he isn't telling the truth - we all need to be honest.

He blames the culture, people nod away, however - if he said 'I am nearly 50, I look it, and I want a Chinese virgin without having the basics of conversational Chinese' people will (rightly) say 'well, you know - I want to be Brad Pitt but...'

Either this place should have minimum standards of educational value or it becomes a circlewank for fantasists who are out to blame everything but themselves for their failures - it annoys me that Ghost is trying to paint a picture of China when he isn't be honest with people on here - if he was, people would call him out on it.

Well this site largely focusses on one aspect of living abroad: looking for sex and women and entertainment. That is valid in itself. I have lived abroad plenty, largely business contracts, sometimes for years. I cant say anything on here would have helped me as I was there for work not entertainment. I was following work, not my dick. I therefore usually had locals take me around and introduce me to the lifestyle, the normal one with families etc, not the night life one. In some places they did offer me women. One very young virgin in Mozambique was sent to my camp But I don't do black so no offer was accepted. In Ghana I was invited to the chief's house for a thank you dinner. My local host told me it is a great honour as no other white man was invited, but I would have to eat traditional foods and I would be offered a woman and it is very disrespectful to refuse. I quickly sent word I am honoured but cannot attend as I have been called to Accra

That means I often missed the tourist things and night life things, unless my hosts took me. Like I must be the only one that went to Egypt and never saw the pyramids, or Kenya and never saw the Serengeti or Masai Mara Working in tanzania I stayed with an indian family or a tent in the bush, and avoided socialising with the liberal NGO types. I was definitely happy in some places, not so much in others. People look for different things in life. Some look for night life and young girls, meh, not my cup of tea. I still value reading their views though.

It's great that you have had all this experience - not everyone has those opportunities, some (a lot?) of people come here from their parents basement with no life experience and no chances of getting on - never mind dating - they wonder if it is better somewhere else, I don't think Ghost is doing anyone any favours by going 'China is shit for dating' whilst hoodwinking the readership of the facts of his personal situation, it's wrong.
