Why should i do that? Lots of guys use that page, including rock. Why let the spammers take down pages here? Thats conceding to them. Why dont you just learn how to click on the active topics page?

Conceding is letting them crap all over it without doing anything, even though we have offered suggestions.

The active topics page is currently being spammed as well. Why not spend a bit more time deleting spam?

I told you, I did spend more time deleting spam. But the next day it all came back. It's a neverending battle, until I find a better solution. I am thinking of reinstating cloudflare again, but raising the security level on it. There are more anti-spam hacks from phpbb but they will take time to install, and I'm busy now in the Philippines in my dating paradise here with tons of girls, my son, Dianne, etc. lol

Fixing something means finding a solution that entails getting rid of spammers without compromising anything else here. You never offered any suggestions because you guys don't understand the problem.

Ok I fixed the spam problem for today. You guys can now browse the latest 100 topics page without seeing spam now, for today. But there's no telling what's gonna come tomorrow. lol

So am i wrong in that the php code is not sifting out the threads in the loop by checking their status?
Why do they show 'topic does not exist' yet the link is created?

I'm gonna reactivate Cloudflare again and raise its security protection to maximum. That may stop the spam here. We will see.

Btw OP, you don't need to start a thread #2 about the spam here. One thread about the spam problem is enough. There's no need for a second thread. If you have something more to say about it, then just say it in the same thread that you started before. Sheesh. You guys are so attention grabbing. There are plenty of threads on spam. All you gotta do is post in one of them. No need to start a new thread about it.

I've already filtered out a lot of words, so much so that people have complained about it. Even if I filter out those spammer words, they will just appear as asterisks or something else or not at all, but the spam posts will still be made. So that doesn't prevent spam.

I am trying to enable Cloudflare again so I can increase its security options, but my webhost panel has been having problems reactivating it. I contacted customer support from Cloudflare and Bluehost to try to resolve this. With computers, so much can go wrong.

I think you're talking about the bad word filter, but my link refers to actually preventing a post submission from going through if it contains the word. It's a bit involved i guess, i don't mean to press the point

Oh I see. That involves changing the code of the template of this forum though. Best not to do that. Better to find a good reCAPTCHA or security program. I'm gonna try Cloudflare again. If that doesn't help, I'll try to install Google's new reCAPTCHA. But it doesn't look easy to install.

Ok I found a way to enable Cloudflare, with no help from Bluehost. The Bluehost team are clueless about a lot of things. So much for their YouTube ads that make them look like a top notch squeaky clean company. I enabed Cloudflare's security setting to HIGH. Hopefully it blocks most spammers. We will see.

Some of you may see a challenge page from cloudflare to make sure youre not a spammer, if your IP is suspicious in some way.
