Non-DACA/non- Dreamers

Post by ladislav »

There has been a lot of news lately about the so called Dreamers. These are usually young adults who were taken to the US illegally as minors, but who want to stay in the US to fulfill their "American dream". But now, they are being threatened with deportation. There is great coverage in the media and a lot of people support their cause. They are seen by quite a few people as true incarnations of the American ideal. They want to be American but they are not allowed to.

There is also a totally unknown, silent and unpublished category of non DACA/non-Dreamers. These are young adults who had been taken to the US legally as minors and poor, who were thrown into US schools, bullied because of their accent, spat upon and even attacked by thugs of the two colors, and who are suffering silently in loneliness in the USA. No friends; snobbery is everywhere. Young men have no GF's. They are forced by the socially racist society to only make friends with " their own kind". Their parents do not want to hear their complaints - they are too busy making money- and the US keeps tell them that they are very lucky to be here. They don't think so.

They are stuck, basically, in a country whose culture they hate ( because its culture does not respect them) and many have resigned to staying in it forever- and to the loveless, segregated future which awaits them. Many of them are sad at the prospect but they can't leave. They are too young and have no money; some are even stateless, or there are political problems in the former country. But they keep agonizing about being in the US. They don't care about being professional. They just want to go home.

I have met such people and have given them advice. There is a way for them. I hope they start joining HA so that we could help chart a course for these non DACAs.
A brain is a terrible thing to wash!
