Why the US is lonely

I wonder why Carrie Fisher didn't have another big role after Star Wars. She was very attractive.

BTW, why do American women like the movie "Pretty Woman" so much? Is their fantasy to have a tall handsome rich guy like Richard Gere, who drops a thousand dollars on a whim everyday, fall madly in love with them? So ridiculous and shallow. Where is their inner and spiritual life? Sheesh.

Carrie Fisher had a chance to audition for the main female role in the Blue Lagoon and Terminator movies in early 1980s. For whatever the reason she didn't pursue them. I think if she had gotten the Sarah Conner role it'd have helped her career. But again, this is speaking in hindsight, as you never know if the movie would be that successful.

If men can chase women for T&A (Tis and Ass), then I guess women can chase men for their wallets.

Pretty Woman is worshipped by women because she was the downright scummiest type of woman a person could ever be (a prostitute who must have slept with thousands), yet some rich man still thinks she is worthy of him. It just makes AWs feel like they too can marry a rich man, despite whatever flaws they may have.

Winston put it best when he wrote in his essay, "American women are the most paranoid, unfriendly and anti-social women in the world!" How true that is! Women in the US, think a guy is a creep if he starts a conversation with her on a bus or train or bookstore. Your only "allowed" to approach women at bars, nightclubs and parties in the US. The only other way to meet women is through friends. Welcome to the "United Lonely States of America."

That's well put Jamesbond!!!! But I would like to add that the breakdown of the American family and the lack of community in most places contributes to the problem of loneliness. Not to mention the emphasis on "individualism" and "every man for himself" adds to this problem!!!

For me, the problem is that Carrie looks a heck a lot like my sister and thus, whenever I see her, I feel like puking.

And this included the RoTJ/Jabba scene. The fact that my brother-in-law fell for a drama queen, makes me think less of the man than anyone else I'd ever known.

I'm glad that others are in lust with my sister's doppelganger but for me, it's just gross. Perhaps this is why regular AWs were never able to manipulate me?
