The FAR higher rate in the Ukraine is the men dying young.

One problem I have with this theory, is that Japan is showing us something else. Men there are supposedly misogynistic and the women don't want to put up with it, especially the more educated they are. So, women there are not marrying or having children, and they don't seem to mind too much, regardless of the biological clock. See: Japanese birth rate. I don't think that huge numbers of American men have the wherewithal to leave here in the first place, as FuzzX stated, but also I don't think AW will come "crawling" back to us, either. The AW are too pompous and wrapped up in their little fantasy worlds, where they are the sole princesses. It'll take a couple of generations of men blowing women off before the AW begin to change their tune.

Hear, Hear! Now AW would rather starve to death than be a good wife.

At the moment, they don't have to worry about being "good". There are still plenty of desperate schlubs all too happy to accept crap treatment and pay her school loan bills, too. Oddly enough, she and the rest of the coven will tell him what a great deal he is getting and he will believe it.

Both nations have generous welfare benefits, right now. Day-to-day, the govt is a much less demanding hubby. He does a terrible job of raising decent kids, though. Single mothers = future crime factory. Govt hubby is running low on funds, so some of the grrrls are gonna get dumped. And, they are going to have to live in the social cesspool they've created.

I don't think that huge numbers of American men have the wherewithal to leave here in the first place, as FuzzX stated, but also I don't think AW will come "crawling" back to us, either.

"Here" can be simple economic involvement. The "crawling back" already happens, you just don't want them by this point. Go to your 20th year school reunion. The too-good-for-you diva at 20sth has a whole lot friendlier attitude at 40sth + 3 kids & 2 divorces. Now she wants to chat you up, but you have grown up, smartened up, and moved on.

The princess fantasy meets a brick wall around 35-40, like Wile E. Coyote over a cliff. Younger guys have more options to blow off their um.. steam, these days, and access to lots more info on traps to avoid. Think of all the appliances in the modern home (stove, robot vacuum, washer/dryer, hot water heater) and some guys will skip any sort of co-hab arrangement at all -- especially once they find out how hard it is (by law) to get a woman out of their house and how easily they can get thrown out of their own house by a simple fake DV claim.

Some people like to counter that "most men won't do this" (as if most men have to ), but all it takes is a good size minority to set things in motion. Look at any formally nice city that is now an eyesore. People didn't vote in mass to "crash" it; a good number of them just decided to stop participating in its economy and move on, to something better.
