This is a question that has been on my mind for a long time. And it's a subject that made me choose French over German for language studies. Why does loaf-eating seem so prevalent among Germans, and how prevalent is it really among Germans? Is it also prevalent in other parts of Europe as well?
Wow...that's really disturbing. Can't say I've ever heard of Germans doing that, and I lived for years in Germany. The French do eat some weird stuff (look up pieds paquets, escargots, frog legs, horsemeat, etc.), but I think they're beyond poop snacking.
For the record I never met a French woman who stinks, so put aside that old American BS belief. It's just AW jealousy IMHO, because I never met a French girl who didn't take really good care of herself, and they always wore perfume and dressed feminine. Can't say the same for many German women: underarm hair, hairy legs (in panty hose), no deodorant, etc., although to be fair that was mainly the middle aged and older generation who were like that. Dated both younger German and French girls and never had a problem with their hygiene at all.
