Glad you guys are having a good time. I also love BKK and could easily live there as a married guy. You guys need to find a way to break Winston's Thailand cherry. Still surprised he hasn't made the trip over there.

Finally, it's time for some Bkk photos!

Firstly, Bangkok is pretty modern, especially in the centre:

Image

The Sky Train gives good views, but it's expensive and there are only 2 lines. And it gets crowded, er, most of the time.

Saw some talent show or something in a shopping mall. Many ladies have white legs here, but often all kinds of creams and potions are involved...

Image

Saw some other kind of event in another shopping mall. These events always have girls who look like this:

Image

Tall, long white legs and they don't look at all like Chinese ladies. Here are another couple:

Image

Much kudos to them for standing around in those shoes all day long while Japanese geeks did some boring gaming contest.

If anyone wants to know how tall they are, I guess 6' 7" or something. They sure towered over me, that's for sure.

What are your chances of dating Siam girls like these? Probably zilch - never seen a foreigner with this kind of Thai girl! Given how high maintenance they could be, maybe it's a good thing.

Today I had a good look round the city. I went to a massive market. It was a load of rubbish, but the antiques market further down the road was more interesting. The main market was full of backpackers sporting quite alarming looking leg injuries, no doubt from backpacking in Nepal.

I've met some more ladies. Mobile dating is proving great fun, and a great way to build my social network here. I'm aiming to have a girl who lives near every BTS station. The downside to WeChat is that you can't always determine somebody's age or even what they look like. I'm sure a ladyboy surprise will hit at some point...

Also met some European dudes who are living in my hotel. One has a Thai girlfriend. I don't know if it's a long term thing. He's been here 5 times now. Definitely part of the set who come here once a year for the whole girlfriend thing. They were really friendly though, and invited me out. I would have taken them up on the offer had I not just got back from an epic day out.

I think I've got Chinese women out of my system, at least for the moment. They seem so uncultured and uncivilized compared to the other people here (Aussie backpackers excepted). Plus I went in a go go bar last night and now have little brown girls on the brain

This city is fun, more of you guys should come here :P .

What was the name of the market?

I've seen you write several times that Thai women look like Indian women and they don't look at all like Chinese ladies. Plenty of Thai-Chinese chicks who would take offense at that statement.

As far as the pretty girls, as they're known here, I dated one many years ago. She worked at auto shows and press conferences. She was an 8 or so, very sweet, great body, white skin, spoke decent English, and came from a good family. I found out later in our relationship that she had a Hong Kong businessman taking care of her. I knew the relationship probably wasn't going to progress so it wasn't heartbreaking but it was a bit of a bummer since she was pretty tasty. We remained friends but I lost touch with her years ago.

The first shot was taken in Terminal 21.

Why Winston refuses to visit Thailand is beyond me. Every man should visit Thailand at least once in their life.

Yes, Thai girls do sometimes remind me of Indian girls. But the higher caste Indian girls, the type that appear in Bollywood movies.

My taxi driver from the airport to the hotel definitely looked Indian.

I don't think Thai girls look at all like Chinese girls. That surprised me a bit.

Seen loads of those girls in Terminal 21 and other malls. They hang about in their tall shoes giving out samples and fluttering their eyebrows.

I'm amazed Winston hasn't come here. There's awesome food and there plenty of girls, so it ought to be his dream place.

Plus it's a good place to live with clean air (well cleaner than China) and reasonably priced accommodation. Food is generally more expensive than China, although Starbucks is cheaper here (not that I ever want to go in one of those again).

Anyway, my Thailand trip ends today for a visa run to sort out my paperwork.

Where am I going? The only clue I'll give is that I've never been there before. Watch this space!!!

The girls that work the convention shows aren't the easiest thing to obtain. Well, maybe if you're tall and very handsome or you catch them in a social circle. I don't think they have lots of guys gaming them in that environment but they usually have sponsors all over too.

Realistically speaking Winston might have less luck in Thailand than in the Philippines with the regular girls. However, since he's a bit of a p4p monger the quality is definitely better than Manila. Girls that are convention show quality are at least attainable that way  I think Thai girls require a lot more cultural awareness too. He may not like it for that reason alone.

Let's be real here. Actions speak louder than words. I think Winston has lost most of his motivation to pursue the polyamorous lifestyle. Given his habits (diet and exercise style), his testosterone levels have likely fallen to low levels at this stage in his life. Sure, he gets excited for a moment when he sees new fresh faces on those dating sites. But his real physical motivations are food, comfort, and intellectual stimulation. Heck, I just read that 36% of Japanese guys between the ages of 18-24 have no interest in pursuing girls or sex. When dating and romance are too much of a challenge, it seems certain guys just shut-down their sexuality or else just revert to porn - paths to least resistance.

This might not be a good thing for members of his site, esp. those stuck in crappy countries who may live vicariously through experiences of others. But I'm sure Diane is happy about that and it bodes well for the longer term prospects of his family life. Anyway, there are others on here who can contribute trip reports and share new experiences and places. Just don't expect much outta Winston on this front. I think his days on this may be done.

What is Winston doing in Vegas anyways? It's a black hole there unless you're an above average handsome club player or a degenerate gambler with millions to blow. I sincerely hope all the past criticism didn't crush his motivation and he decides to travel again. It was lots of fun reading his travel reports.

Winston reminds me of those Chinese sages who were once promiscuous young men from moneyed families who would sup on the finest meats, imbibe in forbidden liquors, and fornicate with whores from wherever they could be found. Then when they finally arrive to mid-life they start to grow the beginning stubbles of their beards. As the beard turns grey the realization of mortality and the temporal nature of life sets in. A philosophical pall sets over their once joyful feckless existence. This realization turns into depression and inactivity as they retreat to their reclusive abodes to brood over ancient tomes and dine on the finest meals to satiate their once earthly lusts. The passion and ambition for life forever drained to the soil.

I think I'm having the same life turning phase... when you're suddenly aware that, shit, you're mortal and no longer young.

Not sure I can be bothered chasing women now, I got rather content eating good food and just generally chilling out in Thailand. Still, there are a few potential dates awaiting me when I return.

Anyway, I am now in a new country. I'll post a new trip report in honour of my 3rd country inside a month.

Anyone want to guess where I am?

Nope. Actually the title of my new thread sort of gives it away!

Actually I wanted to go to Vietnam. However my language school recommended somewhere else, and also Vietnam is a bit of a hassle due to the visa requirements (especially when you book the trip the day before!)...

I really don't see how Thai women look like high caste Indian women. The Thais are rather racist against the Indians actually, but if you look into it more, there are reasons for that.

I don't see how the food in Guangzhou and Bangkok are THAT different. A lot of the food in Thailand is Chinese food. It is a little nicer, but you can find decent food in China as well.

I tended to eat at the 3 items and rice places where you get to pick what you want. I have to admit myself that the restaurants were hit or miss, except the Muslim places. They were good.

However, i went try out an expensive place in Guangzhou (the bill was like $20). It was good.

I agree with all of this.

Most Thai women look nothing like Indians, high or low caste.
