What percentage of them are religious? I wouldn't want to go out with a girl unless we shared the same faith.

I dated a chinese girl once and she didn't share that common trait, it got in the way quite a bit.

I heard that most Chinese women in China are Atheists.

Good thread. Dano is spot on about the number of hot women in China.

I've been to Guangzhou twice this year. The women walking in the street are stunning. I'd walk from my hotel to the metro station and see half a dozen perfect 10's.

On the downside, yes Chinese women are complicated. I've dated around 8 Chinese women. Each one has been completely different, and nothing like any other Chinese woman anyone has ever dated.

The type of Chinese lady YOU will meet will depend on your circumstances. I'm young and educated, and I seem to attract geeky virgin 30 something office ladies. Some men might like them, but I've found them hard going.

Many Chinese women have totally toxic personalities though, and are to be avoided at all costs. Hence all the warnings about Shanghai women!

If you want an easy life, my tip is to go for the Cantonese girls, who are much milder. Actually, if you want an easier life, marry a Filipina or Thai.

But Cantonese girls aren't bad. Another advantage - their families are usually pretty wealthy, so you know they're not just marrying you for money.

Dano says that many Western/Chinese marriages end in divorce. True, but in 9 times of 10 it is about money. If you understand the Chinese love for money (and you have money, or can make money), then you'll be fine.

Dano is also right on another point - many Chinese women do have a big interest in sex. It takes time to learn to spot them, but now they're obvious to me.
One of the girls I met watched "blue movies" and wanted to try stuff out. He he he, I am one lucky man. Hats off to Sam Reeves and his eBook about Chinese women. Before I read his book I got nowhere with women, but after that I scored a direct hit.

I've done a brief review here... http://www.chinesedatingsitesguide.com/articles/chinese-dating-resources/sam-reeves/ Sam reckons there are 9 types of Chinese women, and sure, I've been ticking off the different personality types I've encountered on Chinese Love Links. Incidentally, the type of lady you need to look for might surprise you. Sam's put a lot of effort into writing his guide, so I won't reveal it here.

As to English speaking girls, I know that many Western men don't like them - maybe they're not "exotic enough". I've only dated English speakers, and most have been to Uni to study business English. Dating a woman who doesn't speak your language is a huge risk. Actually, I'm a Brit and we can't even get visas for women without English test certificates.

One thing I liked about the English speaking ladies is that they've given me a really detailed insight into everyday Chinese life. I've been told what restaurant waitresses and shop assistants say about me. Ha ha ha, it's really interesting!

As globetrotter says, most Chinese women are thin! My first girl was 99lbs - oh that was too thin for me. My latest thinks she is a little fat, but her figure drives me wild. In fact I think she has the best breasts in China. We went into a lingerie store to buy some sexy underwear, and the A cup assistant wanted to cop a feel!

Yikes, I've said too much...

Look, here's a big warning for you guys seeking Chinese brides. Most of the Chinese women on Asian dating sites are there for a reason - Chinese men won't touch them. I know Chinese men get a lot of flack here sometimes, but they're not dumb. They can spot the subtle signs of danger we'd overlook.

How subtle? I found out this week that one of the Chinese girls I'd dated was chatting to a Nigerian scammer pretending to be an English man. How did I find out? I saw "his" photo and I spotted he had an American style of facial hair.

If you weren't a Brit then how the hell would you notice that? So when you're chatting to that Chinese girl online, you're really playing with fire. Is she a scammer? Is she a hooker? Is she a serial dater? A gold digger? Yikes!

On my first visit to Gz I was fortunate to hook up with a very wealthy business lady. Not all Asian women on dating sites are poor mail order brides!

Anyway, she showed me some of the underbelly of China. Life is cheap, and life is hard. Yeah, if you want a Chinese wife then you'll need to really put in a lot of effort to understanding the culture.

Oh, and if you want to spot the seriously rich women, they don't flaunt their LV bags! In fact their LV bag will probably be fake.

Look, my Chinese girl works 72 hours a week for $500 a month. Could you do that?

By the way I've also dated Japanese girls. They're hard work. If you want one you really have to spend all day and night pursuing them. Personally I didn't think they were worth the effort.
Compared to Chinese women they're pretty dull.

My first Chinese girlfriend left me for an American guy with 6 cars and an outside pool. She broke my heart. Since then I've treated my trips to Asia as a lot of fun. If I find wife material, then I'll put a ring on it. But I'll never let another woman screw me over.

And understand this - all my friends married to fat Western women envy my lifestyle.

Live the dream guys, live your dream...

Momopi,
Chinese women seem disappointed when I tell them that I'm a vegetarian. It's like it puts a damper on dining with me. Should I stop telling them that, or only tell them when I get to know them better?

I think, like you, Chinese women like talking about cooking. And they feel that if I'm a vegetarian, then they are limited in what they can cook for me and where we can get eat, etc. which is inconvenient.

A lot of their personality is similar to yours, Momopi. They like quoting wise sayings and proverbs, and practical wisdom, just like you do. lol

One Chinese girl I dated got a little hysterical because she worried about my love of cheese!

Oh well, at least she was thinking about our future life together!

China is full of contradictions. I thought all Cantonese food was mild, but in Guangzhou I went to a Cantonese restaurant to meet a girl and I ordered an incredibly hot and spicy dish. It was quite nice though, and much better than the basket of frog pieces!

In China, rice is considered a side dish. Chinese people eat meat first, vegetables second and if their still hungary then they eat rice or noodles. A western vegetarian diet will not make any sense to most Chinese people.

Also, most Chinese people have difficulty eating cheese for some reason but have no problem eating stinky tofu which is technically rotten.

As a vegetarian, do you have issues with your GF eating meat?

Times change. The Japanese are not known to like very spicy foods, but recently Szechuan style Chinese fusion ramen restaurants have become popular in Japan and oversea Japanese markets. They serve spicy ramen and rice dishes.

My GF's family is Cantonese, and her aunt choked on my spicy beef last year, so I had to cook paella for Xmas this year. But the GF can handle spicy hot pot just fine. My first attempt at cooking paella (edible, but not great):

That's if the person can afford it. For poorer folks and members in the military, the main dish is rice. If you look at the menu boards on Chinese navy ships, "main dish" is almost always rice, and sometimes steamed buns.

Most non-westernized Chinese do not like the typical American "burger cheese". You have to introduce them to different varieties of cheese to find what they like. Try brie or camembert with salted crackers, but not sliced baguette as Chinese don't like to chew on hard bread (or hard cheese). Younger gruyère cheese with creamy flavor is also good, try it with baked au gratin potato or gratin Dauphinois dish -- don't put too much milk and cream in it as many Southern Chinese are lactose intolerant. Instead of Polish sausages (prolly hard to find in Asia!), go to a Cantonese restaurant or market that sells BBQ pork and buy da chang sausage (it's the big reddish ones that are fatty and juicy, not the dried type), slice it up and put it in, add layers of shredded gruyère and bake. Chinese kitchens usually don't have ovens so you may have to use a tabletop oven.

I like comté cheese as a light snack, but probably wouldn't serve it on a cheese plate to most Asians.

The woman type you mentioned are likely be those with lower than avg appearance, not attracted to men from her own race but men from other races(white, black, indian, middle east etc.)

Many Chinese women have relationship with Chinese guys in high school from 13-16, they're no differences to Western women.

(copied from another forum and paste here for your reference)

Tips 1: If a Chinese girl rejects you(a white man) by the excuse of her 'parents' or sth, do not believe her because thats probably to make you feel better only, hiding her real desire in dating hot Chinese/Korean guys.

Tips 2: White males have more chances in South East Asia, in dating those dark ugly monkey looking Asian hookers from poor North Thai forest as you can see when visiting Thailand, Philippines & Vietnam, however they're minority and not the same race with East Asian.

Tips 3: Non-attractive East Asian girls are easier(like all other countries in the world) and more open to foreign males(White, Middle east, Indian, African males etc.), so its popular to see white dudes have ugly Asian gf out there. All those Chinese girls posted in Dating websites or the articles posted are fake over the net, they're run by hooker organisations.

Tips 4: Chinese/Korean/Japanese usually say that "99% of East Asian women who date/marry western males are lower than average in appearance or have other problems such as divorced, mental sickness, financial disadvantage - unless they're actually escort hooker approaching western perverts for material/financial/other kinda benefits, rip you off so they can spend the money with her Chinese lover in hometown"(in fact its quite true as you can see out there).

Tips 5: Western males are easy to be cheated by Asians - Go to the bars in China you'll see some dark looking Asian / Chinese girls deliberately approach you, telling you that they're university students or sth and want to learn some English, if you believe in them then you must be an idiot! Eventually you'll require to pay before you're safe to go. They just trying to rip you off so she can enjoy the money with their own Chinese lover at hometown.

There is one more important thing

Postby doc12 » Sun Sep 22, 2013 3:03 pm

everyone are missing the big picture and neglect the most important part, I do not think it matters what is the woman's age is or her status or origin, what is important is to know what to do when you decide that a woman is for you, the hard part is understanding the communication coming from the other side, you need to learn to see the sings and react to them, at the end it becomes a second nature, there is a cool article I found that covers the very basics I hope it will help you, http://bewitchingcloseness.com

The only experience I have with Chinese women are the women at my university. They don't wait for marriage at all and they don't expect to marry you if you have sex with them.

I think traditionally chinese women are very reserved but as soon as they break out of their cultural cage they transform to nymphomaniacs who want to enjoy their last free years till they get married.
