If it's for personal use only and doesn't involve splitting atoms, you'll generally be left alone.

You go trying to compete against Big Oil or build your own RTG or LFTR, the black helicopter guys are gonna want to have a little 'talk' wit ya.

i am assuming that a lot of medical technology is supresed to allow the current pharmaceutical industrial complex to prosper. would not surprise me if pharmaceutical industries of usa, europe, canada, and australia pay armed thugs to destroy labs, and research facilities throughout the world.
