Screw the oil companies. Coming in 2010:

"BYD Auto, which is a subsidiary of China-based BYD Group, the leading provider of NiCd batteries (65% global market share) and lithium-ion cell phone batteries (30% global market share), uses lithium-ion iron phosphate cells from its parent company in its energy storage system."

It's kinda funny when you think about the self-interest at work here. One of the world's largest battery makers is making all electric (plug in) cars. LoL.

Warren Buffet knew a good bargain when he saw one. He invested $230 million in BYD:

He bought the shares at 8 HKD ($1 USD) per share, and now it's worth $9 USD per share. That's 900% returns! Boy I should kick myself in the head for not buying this one. Buffet's $230 million investment is now worth over $2 billion USD!

Why electric?

"Energy consumption and costs
The F3DM consumes approximately 16 kW·h/100 km (0.58 MJ/km; 0.26 kW·h/mi). Running costs $1.44 to $2.72 per 100 km (62 miles) based on 2008 US residential electricity price range from 9 to 17 cents per kW·h [12]"
