Q. Is this ethics required for salvation?

A. No, not in the Christian view. The Christian view is that salvation comes from faith in Christ.

That's how easy it is to be saved, yet most people will refuse to get saved. Abraham wasnt saved because of his deeds. He was saved because he believed God, and that was the reason God imputed righteousness unto Abraham, giving him the purity required to enter into the presence of God, avoiding the everlasting torment of hell. Yup it was that easy.

That means you have to believe the Bible. if you don't believe the Bible, then you do not truly believe Jesus died for our sins. Upon belief, the gift of the Holy Spirit is given to us. He resides inside believers. He is the one who interprets the Bible. If the Holy Spirit is not with you, then you are not saved by belief in Jesus Christ. You still have misplaced your faith somewhere else, most likely with that being on your own works, as if your contribution could ever match that of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Saving yourself through work is a rejection of Christ's sacrifice for us on the cross, because you are saying you can get to heaven without Him because His contribution wasn't enough in your mind.)

For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Romans 4:3

Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Galatians 3:6

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 1 John 5:10

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14

Jesus Christ is the Word of God, my friends. Believe Jesus and you'll believe His Word. Then you are saved. God gives you the righteousness of Jesus Christ once you believe on Him, then all your sins are washed away forever. It is that easy.
A good man is above pettiness. He is better than that.

Christians are no longer under Jewish law of the Old Testament because God came to earth as one of us so He could establish a new Covenant with us. We cannot perfectly fulfill the Ten Commandments because sin has been part of our nature after the fall, but we can seek redemption and a relationship with our Maker through Jesus Christ. The Bible is very clear that in the new Covenant there is no longer Jew or Gentile, male or female, slave or free, as long as we accept Him as Lord of All then we are all equal.

This is what went wrong with Christianity and why I now support Islam.

Jesus seemed very Torah-oriented. Paul wanted to spread the word among the Gentiles and so wanted to release people from having to follow the dozens of uniquely Jewish traditions, but I don't think he wanted to throw out the main trust of the Torah (or if he did, that's bad).
