Rock,
As to Taiwan, let me ask you something.

First, the cold hard facts are that everywhere I go in Taiwan, the ONLY people who will FREELY talk to me are: 1) elderly Taiwanese and 2) foreign travelers. That fact remains consistent everywhere I go in Taiwan. Taiwanese women definitely do not "freely" talk to strangers. That much is obvious. I think even you know that, but deny it due to your predilection for playing devil's advocate.

Now, don't tell me it's because there's something wrong with me. Every sincere normal Taiwanese male I've asked told me that that's just how Taiwanese women are, not open to strangers at all. It's just a simple fact. Even the security guard in our neighborhood told me that too. Now, note that they didn't say, "Well Taiwanese girls are open to strangers, but just not to you cause you aren't attractive or anything special", no, they said that THEY WERE NOT OPEN IN GENERAL. So it wasn't about me, but about THEM.

So quit the victim blaming. I'm talking about in GENERAL, Taiwanese girls aren't open to freely talking to random strangers, not just me. That is the truth. Do you deny that? Why would you deny something that obvious? That's like denying that 2+2=4.

Now, you say that you've seen a lot of foreign guys do well in Taiwan.

Ok, suppose we are both right. Is that possible? Are my statement and yours mutually exclusive or can they be both right at the same time? If they are both right, then can you logically reconcile them?

Even Western guys have told me that Taiwanese girls are not easy to cold approach or chat up in public. A black guy even nodded and admitted that at the club in Taichung we went to last year. And some western guys have told me that by email too. I mean, this fact is just too obvious. So I know I'm not wrong about this. For sure.

So let's say we are both right. How to reconcile both of our experiences and claims then?

Gits,
I don't know why it's so hard for you to upload your ebook to Amazon Kindle and start making passive income off of it. It is super easy. Let me show you. First you go to: http://dtp.amazon.com. Then you fill out the fields and upload your ebook. Then you check your monthly sales in your online reports like this. Here, I've uploaded screen shots of my monthly Amazon Kindle sales reports for you below. This page shows the unit sales and commissions earned for the past 6 weeks. Below are screen shots of the top and bottom half of the report. The column in the far right are the commissions earned.

See how simple that is? Now, at the end of each month, your total earnings for the previous month are direct deposited into your bank account automatically, and you get an email notice about it. That's it! It's that simple.

So what is holding you back exactly? I don't understand.

Look, let me make you an offer. If you have some mental block toward this and can't do it, then how about I upload your ebook into my Kindle store? Then I'll just PayPal you your earnings every month. You want that? Or you want to try it on your own and create your own Kindle account?

I'll PM you this post to make sure you get it.

Winston

How much traffic are you getting monthly ? Unique visitors ? Country breakdown ?

Also, give a rough figure for how much you earn on average from this site monthly and breakdown of where it comes from - affiliate commissions/adsense/sponsors etc.

Ok here is a screen shot of my Google Analytics for the past 30 days. As you can see, the unique visitors are now at over 46,000. The country breakdown is always mostly US, Canada and UK, and the rest in small percentages. No surprise there.

As to a rough breakdown of where my monthly website income comes from, ok I'll show you. Momopi actually suggested I not show it to anyone. But I don't see how it could hurt, since I have no secrets to hide or secret formulas to keep. It was all due to 3 years of content generation and traffic build up. There is nothing about that that can be stolen from me or emulated. So I don't see why not.

Anyway, here is my monthly estimated website income stream breakdown, which I keep in my logs and update as necessary. If you learn anything from this, let me know.

Monthly Website Income Estimated Tally Sheet

Note: Fixed earnings are depicted by a fixed amount, while variable earnings are depicted by an estimated range separated by hyphens (-).

Primary Income (fixed/steady)

Text Link Ads - $160
LinkWorth.com text links - $60
Two small advertiser sponsorships - $30
Anastasia Web ad sponsorship - $90
Amazon Kindle Ebook Sales - $80 - $120
Co-brand dating site (http://personals.happierabroad.com) - $100 - $150
A Foreign Affair co-brand dating site (http://women.happierabroad.com) - $0 (was profitable in the past, but hasn't generated any income for the past few months)
ContextWeb.com CPM ads - $30
InfoLinks.com text link ads - $40 - $60
Google Adsense - $250 - $300

Secondary Income (smaller/infrequent)

Direct PDF ebook sales - $0 - $75 (0 to 4 sales a month, sporadic and streaky, infrequent)
Ebook sales commissions for Larry Elterman's "A Man's Guide to Life and Love in the Philippines" - $0 - $20 (sporadic)
Affiliate commissions from third party dating sites (e.g. Blossoms, Cebuanas, Cupid Media, Filipino Cupid, Elenas Models, etc.) - $0 - indeterminate amount (very sporadic, often no sales for a few months, then an occasional sale here and there)
Affiliate commissions from travel services (airfare and hotel ads and booking engines) - $0 (so far)
Consultation fees - infrequent and rare

Estimated total monthly website income: $900 - $1000
(plus more, if secondary income commissions occur on any given month)

There is a lot of good information in this thread about making money online and I have done many of these things my self. I used to make "free" porn sites, but that has basically been destroyed by the new tube style sites.

I started writing for demand studios for a while but the way they force you to write is ridiculous. You have to dumb down technical articles for the average reader.

I have many domain names making my own content now trying to build some traffic and bookmark users. I am waiting before selling ads or links.

For those of you trying to generate passive income, here are some great inspirational quotes I found that justifies your venture as being sane and rational.

"What's the point of working to make a living, if most of your living consists of working?" - Pat Flynn, Passive Income Guru

"When you work for someone, you trade time for dollars. But if you invest your time into creating a business, you produce a cash flow operation that works for YOU!" - Pat Flynn, Passive Income Guru

"Active vs. Passive income: With active income, when you stop working, you stop getting paid. But with automated passive income, when you stop working, you still continue getting paid! That equals Freedom!" - Key point on many passive income websites

So true when you think about it, isn't it? And it makes so much sense too. Why live as a slave, instead of trying to find a way out of it so you can be free?

Feel free to forward these quotes to everyone you know.

Too Late Now!

Postby polya » Tue Jan 17, 2012 9:00 pm

With the world economy going down the crapper, it's too late to do much to make money now on-line. There's already thousands of porn sites going out of nusiness. Ebay is sure slipping now - I personally have almost stopped using it since buyer's can't give sellers negative feedback anymore. I'd recommend finding a good job in your "new" country & if you can't just stay home. I know it's not what you want to hear, but it's the only logical advice.

Don't you have things backwards? If the world economy is going down, then getting a job is the last thing you should be doing. Becoming independent with your own self-employment income would be better in that case.

But come on now, people have been saying that for thousands of years, that the world economy is going down. Remember that quote: "People are unhappy because they believe the past to be better than it really was, and the present to be worse than it actually is."

It is not too late. The online world is still very active and there are markets out there to be tapped into, especially as more and more countries become developed and more people have access to the internet.

Winston did none of those. Yet his site is generating a cool $1,000 per month and it practically runs itself.

1. He started his site with peanuts and invested virtually no capital, just labor of love.

2. He does not scam people.

3. His site is not porn.

So if what u write from yr. personal experience is true, how do u explain his success? Or do u not consider his still growing passive income a success?

If u were pulling in US$2-3 K a month with Internet marketing, it seems a shame that u walked away from it just cus u sensed growing competition and shrinking margins. Being established and successful counts for a lot in this biz, right? Perhaps u cld. have made adjustments to stay in it instead of walking? Or did u sell out for a nice sum of cash? This thread (and site) is about sharing experience based info so pls. tell more.

The BEST forum on the WEB about online marketing is www.warriorforum.com, they have all kinds of products that will help you. As you know, internet marketing is the future with the rise of online radio, online video, online television and digital music.

Things you need to be successful online:

1. Find a niche that is already proven to sale and you can promote other people's products as an affiliate or imitate someone.
2. Pick quality products to put on your website. Amazon has a good affiliate program as well as thousands of other websites.
3. Get FREE targeted search engine traffic by getting one way links from other websites to your website known as BACKLINKS.

If you want to be success, you MUST have substantial traffic to your traffic.

Read up on guys like Dan Kennedy and Scott Fox, they are both online entrepreneurs who have wrote great books on the subject.

Wrong.

The internet is getting bigger and more global everyday. It's the BEST way to marketing. Most people shop online now. The internet is the wave of the future and our exist will depend on it in the near future as the internet will be connected to our everyday lives.

Online radio, online television, online video and online music are some of the reasons why the internet is the FUTURE.

Since the internet is getting bigger, more CASH is going to flow through it.

Anyone who doubts the power of the internet is foolish.

Well there are many people in the world who make 6 to 7 figures easily online. They basically sell high profit margin products. Products that cost from $300 to $2,000.

I don't know why in the world Winston doesn't get more traffic and create high end products for more profit. Guy could be making $1000 a day.

I'm making around $2,000 now, so it's double now since Rock posted that.

It's not easy at all. You have to grow your site over time.

6 or 7 figures? I wouldn't say many are making that. Less than 1 percent of online enterpreneurs make even 4 digits. It's one of those things that many try but only a few succeed.

Nothing is easy. You have to have good traffic, good content and are recognized in your niche.

Maybe you are right. With 90,000 unique visitors per month now, I should be making more. But it's not like I can just put up high priced products on this site and sell them. It's not that easy or simple. People online are looking for cheap things, not expensive things. Otherwise they would just go to a store. Selling is not easy. People are critical and skeptical these days. You have to bring real value to the table to sell something.

Also, your product has to appeal to the type of traffic you get. I can't just start selling high priced cars and houses on this site, and expect to get sales, for example, because I am not getting the kind of traffic from people looking for those things. For this site, dating sites appeal to the traffic here, and that's why they do well here. What else do you suggest? I joined some travel affiliate programs before, but they didn't do well on here for some reason.

No, what I see the internet is doing is causing us to "race to the bottom" - only the cheapest products sell. Many malls and shops on the streets are closing down. Many internet sites are closing down. Unless you're the cheapest, no-one will buy from your site - hell, no-one will know it exists!
