Wanted opinions on the IT field (Cruise Ship) and Software (Remote)

Ok, so I'm still going to go teach English in Korea some time soon (Only have a few classes left in my degree and one more thing to submit for my TEFL cert).
I have found 2 potential pathways that might even be better for living abroad though that I wanted some feed back on. The first is that I might get software Engineering (C++, Java) degree online (It will be paid for so no real out of pocket expense). With that I could work for Teamspeak 3 and get a German wage while working remotely. This would be about 30-34K USD per year. Only thing is they want you to be able to speak both English and German to talk with co-workers. Not sure if it might be worth it based on Germany isn't exactly going to be the same as we know it 10 years from now due to the whole migrant crisis stuff going on.
The other option I have seen that is very promising is that I go back into the IT field. I would essentially get a degree in Cloud and system admin (once again paid for) and go work for a Cruise ship. Cruise ships currently pay about 6.2k for an IT manager position and 5k for a regular IT position. You work for 4 months on the cruise ship (Room and board free) and then get 3 months off. I'm thinking I could probably work for 4 months on the Cruise ship then for the 3 months off I could be living in the Philippines. I'm thinking I could buy a Condo there, I think I might look at Cebu or Manila. I could do that for 5 or so years and with my investments probably retire after that early. Seems like a solid plan so far and the pay is good. On top of that I am getting some additional travel done.
My original plan had been to eventually get a Masters in ESL so I could teach at the university level in places like Korea for higher pay and few hours. Though the cruise ship plan is looking a lot more promising as far as pay and actually being in the Philippines on my time off instead of Korea. What do you guys think?
