The EU has 28 member countries. The grand social experiment of unifying all the European states under common economic currency seemed like a great idea. The idea was to prevent future world wars and promote social harmony. I think the Europe was trying to form a federation similar to the United States of America. The Germans were reluctant to bail out the Greeks. Brussels seems ineffective and overrun with Muslim immigrants. The Paris attacks were terrible and I cried because I have many friends there. It seems like Europe has descended back into nationalism and anti-immigrant sentiments.

What is the future of Europe? Was EU a bad idea? Should the Greeks be kicked out?

In my humble incel opinion, nations should be based from the following ranked considerations: (1) language; (2) religion; (3) politics; (4) other stuffs. Language is the most important since people need to be able to easily communicate before they can discuss their agreements or differences. In this way, Switzerland should be broken up into at least 3 countries of regions: German-speaking, French-speaking, Italian-speaking (and maybe Roma-speaking). The European Union should be disbanded to allow each nation-language group go back to managing itself. They can still have free-trade, of course, but with each country deciding domestic matters itself. What do you think?

Oh, Dana, you poor thing. This site is either not at all what you think it is, or is what you think it is and you're going to have a bucket of lulz. I would encourage you to read some of the more... Interesting posts in the Latest 100 Topics section to get an idea of what you're dealing with. This place is bizarre, to say the least, and basically just hates on America and the West constantly, sometimes rightly so, sometimes not so much. In any case, glad you're enjoying America. It's not the greatest country in the world- it's got its up and its downsides, but it's certainly a place where one can build a life for themselves.

Regardless, I've been to the CZ- passed through on my way to points farther East a few years back- and it's a really nice place. Unfortunately, my travels were confined to Prague, so most of the locals I interacted with were incredibly sick of tourists, American or otherwise. The Czechs I've met elsewhere have all been wonderful people, however. Might head back there in a few years when I'm done with residency, explore the countryside a bit rather than the touristy city.

I was born there but grew up in Joburg, South Africa. If I had to choose between visiting Czech or SA, I would choose the latter. Once you have seen a castle or château you've seen them all. I returned to Czech after my studies but couldn't stand it - Czechs in general are not happy people. Their coldness and narrow way of thinking is irritating to say the least. Their economy may have progressed but not their awful fashion scene or way of thinking. Many young czechs are running away, especially women because they don't want czech men who I have to agree are just awful looking. Czech Republic is so overrated. The outstanding Healthcare is the only positive thing I can think of, along with good beer and some traditional food. I go back to use their doctors and the fee health care since I have my citizenship there. Anyway I spent 4 years in Toronto after.
