welcome.

you sound like a helluva nice guy & very wealthy. that my friend is a horrible combination in today's marriage world.

why would you roll the dice on throwing away 70%+ of your wealth and potential earnings to a wife who is a false domestic violence charge away from divorcing you and getting most of your assets?

most woman (even high quality foreign woman) are court savvy and will work the divorce industry to separate a man from his wealth when she so chooses.

If i were in your shoes, i would focus on my career, travel, hobbies and pay for top shelf model escorts when i was in the mood.

dont let your kindness and willingness to be a good husband blind you to the true hazardous disadvantage reality that is marriage in this day and age.

bottom line, todays marriage = minimum payoff and fairness for men and maximum risk of financial ruin.
You are entitled to your anti-marriage stance.

However I think you discount the desire for many men to have their own families and that belongs in a structured marriage, not just some random prostitute you banged one night a posh hotel in Paris.

Court room savvy is BS, why hire an incompetent lawyer? Then again the best protection against a nightmare scenario marriage is to MARRY THE RIGHT WOMAN which is easier than it sounds IMHO.

Short plug for my friend's restaurant: come and dine at the Anaheim White House restaurant, located just 5 mins from Disneyland! :D

Momopi: I just looked up your friend's restaurant. The Anaheim White House Restaurant is actually less than 1 mile from Disneyland as the crow flies - and about 5 miles from my house. I'll definitely drop by and pay them a visit.

If you know anyone looking for host functions, Bruno added a new banquet hall last year. No room fees! Just pay for food!

Hi onezero4u,

Thanks for your advice. You know I've actually gone thru that stage before as well. Thinking that my success in my career and money will keep me happy, but it never feels quite right/normal compared to everyone else. I've read many bachelor sites that advocate that path. Very hard path to take...

I'm still that idealistic dreamer. Alway have been. I think if you search hard enough and stay very cautious and learn to read people/women very well, I believe that you can find the right one. Besides, I hate to admit this, but it does get very lonely to go home and eat dinner that I've picked up from the restaurant every single night for the past 12 years, while all my friends and co-workers go home to their families.

Ironic, but I have taken all of your above advice. My career is great. I've traveled everywhere in Europe/US, my hobby involves chartering private sailboats/yachts, just ordered a new Jaguar XJ for this summer to race down the autobahn and I've paid for executive escorts services several times before for overnight enjoyment. Trust me, the escort services are simply not the same as having a girlfriend that loves you. And the intoxicating effect from the man-toys wear off after about 6-12 months.

Too bad there isn't good insurance against divorce except for a prenuptial. Or a crystal ball. Maybe I could borrow a lie-detector machine and strap every girlfriend to it.

I guess it simply boils down to whether or not one wants to take the risk and how much you value marriage and being normal in the eyes of society.

good to hear from you Peter....

i wish you all the luck....btw Prenups are normally thrown out of court (attorneys will claim it was signed under duress of not being able to get married without it)

knowing now what youve told me about yourself. why not get longer term girlfriends who when things get nasty, boring, sexless etc (like in most relationships) you can just release her and she disappears without all of your money, houses & toys???

just be careful whatever you do...you have tons of attractive qualities for woman (read gold diggers) and with your financial success, you will pay dearly if it doesnt last forever.
marriage is a 3 ring circus: engagement ring, wedding ring and then suffering.

Thanks onezero4u!

I will always keep your opinions in the back of my mind....Truly something to think/worry about.

You sound like a lawyer. Are you or just someone unfortunate to have been thru it all?

What does the "onezero4u" mean? In reference to a score card in the love/relationship business?
