Bed bugs

Post by YoucancallmeAl » November 5th, 2010, 12:36 am

OK, as you all probably know, there's a growing bed bug epidemic around the world now, particularly at hotels.
And as one who can't stand creepy crawlies, much less the kind that suck your blood and leave painful itches for weeks, I'm a little terrified to travel right now.
Those of you who are currently traveling, have bed bugs been a problem for you?
And if so, what countries are worst?

Have you had bedbugs and if so, where?
Anyone know what countries are worst?

There's a post from a few months ago by Momopi about special dogs that are very effective at sniffing them out if they are anywhere in a household.

Yeah, but at least the roaches don't bite the f**k out of you while you sleep, leaving you with intense itchiness for weeks.

I travel for work all the time and have been bitten by various bugs around the world. These days the hotels use mattress enclosures so it's a little better. Don't leave your luggage on the floor, use the folding luggage rack or place it on a table.

Don't forget to buy a good mattress enclosure for your bed at home, for both the mattress and box springs:
