Has any international traveller to Canada had to post a cash bond to Canadian Immigration upon arrival in order to ensure returning on the departure date? How does this work? Is it decided before or after arriving, for how much, can a citizen post a bond on behalf of the traveller, etc.?

I have never heard of this.
