Now is a good time to start thinking about America's future, or lack of it.

Once the global economy collapses - and it will since the earth is finite, which does not allow infinite growth - there will be no where else to go except for space for the economy, but our so called leaders have essentially nixed the most meaningful space exploration. There is no where else left on earth to go. No more New World. No more countries to infect with the bankers poison.
There may be revolution or a Second American Civil War before this country is finally finished. The culture is essentially homogenous in lack of values but are divided over plenty of other things, such as race.
The debt will not be paid back because it cannot be. At some point there will be a government default and collapse. The country will disband, splitting into different countries I suppose.
As things are going now, the population is declining due to feminism and Great Depression II. Perhaps fewer people will be around to have to go through the coming horrors. Not that that is a consolation really.
There will be no energy independence. Such a thing is a myth. Oil drillers are seeking oil in tar sands and such up North - this alone shows that light, sweet crude is long gone. Peak oil never got solved. It was merely delayed, and when the totality of this hits and there is no more delaying it...the asscocking we are going to receive is going to be the mother of all asscockings that any empire has ever felt. Add in an increasingly volatile planet and the results will be insurmountable. It will become a matter of survival.
There are still plenty of wildcards as to how "loud" or "quiet" the collapse will be. What about foreign invasions of the United States or World War III? What about the emergence of a new superpower to displace the U.S.?
There is no hope for anything good on a large scale. individually and locally, people will return to a way of life centered around self-sufficiency - which is individuals within communities being interdependent; in other words, a future with much less energy.
And all the -isms which destroyed us in our own times, such as feminism, statism, consumerism, totalitarianism, and the rest of the ilk will become the dinosaurs of the human race.
Or the human race becomes extinct.
The U.S. national debt hasn't been paid off since Andrew Jackson was president, and it never will be. But that's OK, it's just funny money that we allow banksters to create out of thin air and call it a debt we owe them. These markers will never be due -- believe me. The U.S. has a multitude of cultural-collapse type problems, but the federal debt is not one of them.
Non-aggression assumes secession and local autonomy.
IMO state governments will outlast Federal.
Some states will split. California will become 5 states, others like Montana, Florida, and Missouri will split in two.
In many states, including California, it is county governments that will inherit real power.
Larger issues will be settled with treaties between states. Counties, at least in places like California where they are large, will also conduct "foreign policy" with neighbors.
Organized force will determine areas of control. National guard, back under state control, plus state police will control at least part of a state, perhaps all.
Lots of chaos has to happen, probably, before Feds will crumble, and states step up.
Peace can be aided by advocating for local self-determination. Objection to Obamacare souldn't be that it is socialist. Objection should be that it is nationwide, forced, universal. Oregon or Vermont could run socialized medicine effectively if they chose. Doesnt mean Arizona could.
Nullification, ignoring Washington, solving problems locally, leaving the Feds out.
When the Roman Empire fell, it was local Roman governors and military commanders who generally ended up becoming the dukes and princes of various feudal states.
Get power, run for office, get into a position of authority now. In order to be in a position to do good as the need arises.
"Well actually, she's not REALLY my daughter. But she does like to call me Daddy... at certain moments..."
True - criminal records, child support orders, and alimoney - if they still exist in some places - won't extend past state boundaries, and not past county boundaries in California.
It'll be like the Old West in the movies. Ride to the next town, or the next territory, and start fresh.
And no make-work jobs for women.
MILF's will go for a discount, and be willing to cook and clean as well.
"What Comes Next?"
Are you interested in the part where the cops disarm and forcibly remove those who prepped?
(Note how the narration implies the woman is in a flooded/contaminated area, while she is clearly on dry ground and has plenty of food & water)
Or are you interested in the part where law enFARKment joins with the other gangs looting for fun & profit?
And finally let's not forget those who expect the govt to rescue them.
