Israel and Cyprus

Does anyone here have any personal experience in these countries?

I am not looking for a third world country where I can get laid. I am married. I am looking for a stable patriarchal country. I know that Israel is infested with liberals, but it also has Orthodox Jewish communities that may be appealing. And demographics is on the Orthodox's side. Israel and Cyprus have some of the lowest illegitimacy rates in the world (along with Japan).

I was in Israel about 17 years ago. I liked Safed and Jerusalem, Haifa was okay, and Tel Aviv was horrible. But 17 years is a long time. I was also briefly in Cyprus, for a few hours, but slept through it. My boat stopped there and I got out, sat down, and passed out until it was time to go again. So I know nothing about the place.
