Check out these scary movies. The trailers made the hair on my back stand up. Yikes! Jacob's Ladder is the most highly rated one and is a very disturbing psychological thriller that leaves you feeling unsettled after watching it. The trailer for it is really creepy.

Jacob's Ladder (1990)

Cult psychological horror-thriller starring Tim Robbins.
A traumatized Vietnam war veteran finds out that his post-war life isn't what he believes it to be when he's attacked by horned creatures in the subway and his dead son comes to visit him.

Trailer

The Orphanage (2007)

Laura, a former orphan, raises her adopted son Simón together with her husband Carlos in an old house and former orphanage where she was raised. While at the orphanage Simón tells Laura that he has five invisible friends which she believes are a product of his active imagination. Laura decides to reopen the orphanage to cater for disabled children and throws a party. During the party Simón tries to persuade Laura to go and take a look at his friends cabin but she's too busy. Later on she sees a mysterious masked boy and realizes that Simón has also disappeared. Laura feels the presence of other people in the house and months later Laura invites a team of parapsychologists to try to unravel the mystery.

Trailer

Cube (1997)

Cube has stormed the world with it's unique plot and captivating horror/thriller atmosphere. A true cult film!

Plot: 7 complete strangers of widely varying personality characteristics are involuntarily placed in an endless kafkaesque maze containing deadly traps.

Trailer

Identity (2003)

Strangers from all different walks of life: a limo driver escorting a fading television star, parents with a young son whose marriage is in crisis, a cop transporting a dangerous convict, a beautiful call girl, a couple of young newlyweds, and a nervous motel manager are caught up in a severe rainstorm, stuck at a motel in desolate Nevada. Soon they realize they may be at the motel for another reason when one by one, people start getting killed off. As tensions flare and fingers are pointed, they have to get to the bottom of why they're there. Meanwhile in an undisclosed location, a psychiatrist is trying to prove the innocence of a man accused of murder in an eleventh hour trial. How these two through-lines are related can only be found in Identity.

Here are some Jaws type films from the 70's that are considered horror movies too. They are very interesting.

Orca (1977)

After witnessing his mate and child's death from Nolan's hands, Orca, the killer whale, goes on a rampage in the fishermen's harbor. Under the villagers' pressure, Nolan, Rachel and an Indian sail after the great beast, who will bring them on his own turf.

Trailer

Comment on YouTube:
I love those "horror" movies with animals as "protagonists",but, in my memories, "ORCA" was, among these movies, the most touching and the deepest which I have ever seen. The cry of pain of the male orca (when his family gets brutally murdered, i.e. captured, "fished" on board the fishing boat) is simply UNSPEAKABLE!

Part 1

The White Buffalo (1977)

In this strange western version of JAWS, Wild Bill Hickok hunts a white buffalo he has seen in a dream. Hickok moves through a variety of uniquely authentic western locations - dim, filthy, makeshift taverns; freezing, slaughterhouse-like frontier towns and beautifully desolate high country - before improbably teaming up with a young Indian named Crazy Horse to pursue the creature.

Hugo brings to a family boating party his newest invention-a motion picture camera. The party quickly turns into a disaster as he captures on film the tragic drowning of his wife and son. When the film is replayed later, the same ghostlike presence appears. It flies towards his son, and vanishes inside his dying body. Has Hugo discovered The Asphyx, the spirit of the dead described in Greek mythology? A spirit which lives in constant agony, not finding rest until it takes possession of a human body? Could the spirit, if captured, become the key to immortality? Hugo is compelled to find the answers. It is a ghoulish search, with eternally haunting results.

I just saw both Descent movies. They were pretty annoying. The characters did the stupid things I've ever seen. The first film was ok, but the scream of the monsters was annoying and unnecessary. The second one was so bad that it was just bad and outrageous. I counted 100 basic logic errors in it. That's the most I've ever counted in a movie before. The ending was plain stupid and senseless too. I think it was set up for a third film, but it wasn't made.

In any case, if you want to see The Descent 2 to see over 100 basic logic errors, here is the link. lol

Here are a bunch of old horror films I see on YouTube that look good. I don't have time to provide descriptions or titles, but the title of the movies should appear in the video thumbnail images below. I can't believe how many films there are that I've never heard of. lol

Check out these sick horror films called Sleepaway Camp, where a shy girl named Angela kills a ton of teens and kids, each one in a gruesome creative manner that looks so fake. It's so bad that it's good. A very morbid entertainment. I can't believe that back in the 80's, they could get away with showing kids getting killed one by one like that, whereas nowadays, it's too politically incorrect to show that in horror films.

In the first film, she's just a shy quiet teen. In the second, she's a camp counselor. The second one has a lot of nudity and sex scenes, but the uploader blackened them out, unfortunately. In the third one, she comes back and poses as a troubled inner city youth. I don't know what the fourth one is about though, but it's called "Return to Sleepaway Camp". Here they are in chronological order. The second film is in 8 parts though.

In the dark silence of the sea during World War II, the submarine U.S.S. Tiger Shark prowls on what should be a routine rescue mission. But for the shell-shocked crew, trapped together in the sub's narrow corridors and constricted spaces, this is about to become a journey into the sensory delusions, mental deceptions and runaway fear that lurk just below the surface of the ocean and deep inside the human psyche.

I've been watching the Halloween films. They are interesting and similar to the Friday the 13th movies. The first few are really corny though. But the 4th and 5th films are pretty good. Here they are on YouTube, along with the 6th film.

Halloween IV: The Return of Michael Myers

Halloween V: The Revenge of Michael Myers

Halloween VI: The Curse of Michael Myers

Ok I just saw some of these Halloween films. They are entertaining but annoying at the same time.

Here's what ticks me off.

Why is it that people in horror movies do the dumbest and most senseless things?

The police are always useless in horror movies and totally incompetent. Since they are not the heroes or protagonists, they don't get to be the ones who finish off the evil villain, so they always have to get distracted and be out of the way, or they get killed off too.

When dozens of people are killed in slasher movies, the few incompetent policemen around do nothing but get in the way or try to dismiss everything. They never think to call the national guard no matter how many are getting killed.

The cops in the Halloween and Friday the 13th films are dumber than dumb. Totally useless too. All they do is get in the way. Or get killed off.

Why is it that no one in horror movies knows how to turn on a light switch inside a building at night? Why do they always sit and walk around in the dark, even when doing normal routine tasks? That's very unsafe, esp in a public building. Do they not know what a light switch is? That's so cliched and annoying.

Why is it that no one knows how to lock a door in horror movies? In slasher movies, the killer gets into every house by simply opening the door, even when the residents know that there's a killer roaming around. Do locks not exist in horror movies?

Furthermore, killers in slasher movies seem to be able to teleport and walk like Kung Fu masters. They can appear out of nowhere, or be miles away and then suddenly appear out of nowhere. They can also walk up behind any character with no sound from their footsteps, like Kung Fu masters.

They also seem to be everywhere at once.

After a while, this gets too predictable and cliched.[/youtube]
