What is the difference between courting and dating?

I would like to know is there any difference between courting and dating? I think the word courting has many definitions in todayâ€™s culture. Is courting is a set of rules have to follow to have a proper relationship. Now a days Dating has become the most common method in building relationships. What do you think guys?

The difference between courting and dating is that courting has marriage as its goal while dating has no defined goal.
