She is probably embarrassed to show it off to family and friends. If he would have skipped the trip he probably could have got a 1 karat something or other... which would probably look more expensive than it is. If that's all she is complaining about I could actually understand that. But then again so many middle class guys are being pushed to by rings that shouldn't be in the budget.Zambales wrote:And another typical gold digger slithers off the production line (taken from the same site)
Thread title : Am I wrong for wanting a better ring?
He spent $2500 on my ring. I make a lot more money than he does he doesn't make much now but after buying my ring he has about 10,000 left in savings and a 401 k idk how much he has in that. He is planning to go on vacation with his friends to Miami. He hasn't mentioned anything about us having a nice honeymoon (we are eloping). I feel he should give me a nicer ring especially since he was considering a vacation. His ex gf wanted a 10,000 ring he never proposed to her though. She was very unattractive and she cheated on him. I feel like I deserve something nicer. I would be fine with a cheaper ring if he helped pay for my cosmetic surgery. I feel I'm not a priority bc he would rather spend money on a 10 vacation.
He said he would give me a nicer one in 7 yrs when he graduates. But idk if he actually will.

This is a good opportunity to test whether or not your woman has a good heart. If I ever marry - which isn't likely given how unworthy of marriage most women anywhere are - she won't be getting a ring. With the money that would have gone towards a ring, I would tell her that I'm putting it towards something else that would benefit our family, such as a college fund or building a home. If she agrees with this she is a keeper. If she gets angry and disagrees and wants a ring instead I would know she's rotten.
