I have two questions for you:

1) Have you ever travelled outside the USA apart from a few short trips to Mexico, Canada, or the Carribean?

2) Do you currently have a valid US passport?

Ghostforever, I would love to take my uber lesbian mangina to that website. Thanks I didn't know there were others like me! Ad hominem was it? You must have a lot of experience.

And Jackal, why yes, as a matter of fact I just returned from my abroad trip in Bilbao, as well as entered the surrounding countries (before that I went to Thailand for a biology trip lasting 3 months, and have been to several South American and Central American countries, with might I ad, some of the friendliest people on the planet, my opinion). So hopefully this answers your second question :)

So does this mean that you're an American woman? If so, then you'll never truly understand our viewpoints on this website and all discussion between us is futile.

Did you live with the locals during your biology trip to Thailand or did you just stay in a hotel with other American and foreign scientists? If you lived in a bubble of your native culture while you were there, then the experience probably didn't really change the way you view the world and was more like colonialism.

No I'm not a female, I was just going off of what the previous poster had insinuated.

And secondly, no, in Thailand I had myself and two other graduate students and our head biologist. My professor had limited language skills and so when we needed translation we also had a local translator. We bounced between the Tak province (I saw very, VERY few foreigners) and Mae Hong Son. Hope that helps.

Okay BH, so you're working with a team of smart people you like, and you occasionally do interesting stuff overseas. Not everyone in the US has such a satisfying life and not everyone can use their talents in the US.

Anyway, why are you posting here if you're so content to be based in the US? Do you have an interest in dating foreign (non-Anglo-American) women?

thebassandthehoopment wrote:-Probably formed their opinions of American women based on what they see in the news, which indeed always shows fat, disgusting, criminal, slobs, but nonetheless ignorant

You sound like you're either at university now or recently were there, so you are still thinking about college girls. College girls are not by any means a representative sample of the general population in the US. The real obesity statistics in the US are staggering. Also, the poorest states and the poorest areas tend to be the ones with the worst obesity problems. So yes, we are not generally referring to yuppies when we discuss obesity here.

But the main point is how arrogant and rude the few good-looking American women are. Sure, some foreign countries have mostly arrogant women as well, but many others have women with kinder, more traditional personalities.

thebassandthehoopment wrote:See? Stereotypes suck and are often incorrect. Every country has men and women who look and act differently. Get over it.

Yes, every country has different types of people, but the ratios of these different types of people makes a huge difference. Living in a country where only 15 percent of the good-looking women are total bitches feels very different than living in a country where 90% of the good-looking women are total bitches.

You're putting words in my mouth I believe. I never said American women were superior, and in fact, I feel otherwise. I was simply offended by these overexaggerations. (I've actually been out of college for ten years and recently returned for a foreign language degree (my 3rd language) in order to aid in legal translation, and also interested in mature relationships so no I'm not discussing college girls). I'm also aware of obesity statistics in the United States and it being the fattest country. All I was doing was pointing out that the previous posters argument was obviously extremely inaccurate (since when do all US women hate their families?) Also, the ratios are different but to lump everyone into one category per country is pretty inaccurate. There's a large difference between the women to the North and the South, as well as the East and the West coast.

You also have to keep in mind here that the United States is completely different from other nations in many senses, its newer, the culture is different than other western cultures, and traditional views are pushed out of the way by a over sexual, narrow minded media which consumes US citizens, and its not just a male/female thing, it stems from culture. Keep in mind this isn't just a problem with younger people, media norms affect ALL ages. Poor personalities aren't just limited to gender based on an area. I know we're discussing women in this forum but you have to take into account the society these women are raised in. Unfortunately, respect is not really a part of the American culture, nor are any of the problems you find with these women. So no, in no way was I saying American women are the best, its obvious they're not, but to see them getting bashed with no defense I felt it was important to bring light to the other issues that could be affecting their piss poor, give me everything attitudes. Once again, its dependent on WHERE you are in the US, not just in general (if you want nice, healthy, beautiful women, go North or West). I also think your statistic on beauty vs bitchiness is pretty skewed, sounds like maybe you don't have the most experience with American women from more than a certain region.

Also, back to the obesity topic, of course I'm discussing educated, healthy women here. Whether its here or abroad are people generally interested in hearing about fat, unhealthy, uneducated women, nor discussing them as love interests? I think not.

So a very small subset of American women are great, I think everyone would agree on that, but there are not many of them nor are they easy to get into relationships with. Once you are out of college it becomes quite hard.

WTF? No, really? IT depends North or South? I've lived in the North and lived in the South, but I grew up in Eastern Europe and traveled the world. I can admit one thing - women in the US North are the shittiest ever, while American South is a bit more relaxed and a bit more open. Otherwise it's the same crap! Same attitude, same weight and shallowness issues. Yes, it is much better to go out in Miami than Chicago, but at the end it's the same crap, really. For someone who has never been out of the country it may look like a different world, but please - get your ass off that couch and go abroad! It opened eyes of many people and will do the same for you. Of course living abroad is not for everyone. I hear Americans blaming Europe for socialism. Well, they simply don't understand the beauty of it, the ease and enjoyment people get there with healthcare and free education, good food and better society. Because partially why Americans are so disconnected is due to all these issues of lack of money, hard work and no available public transportation besides some larger cities, but still only downtown areas (NYC being the best seems like).

Americans seem to just hate Michael Moore calling him socialist, anti-American etc. But just out of watching Sicko movie you can see much better lifestyles people have in Europe just because their government cares about people by providing some basic important necessities. In America it's all about getting your money and getting rich and screw everyone else. Well, this kind of lifestyle doesn't bring emotional and family happiness in life, no freaking way.

-They have poor character
-They are less loving
-They are less romantic / passionate
-They are less responsible / mature
-They have unrealistically high or low views of their physical appearance
-They are too complicated and less likely to accept a simple life
-Less likely to be physically attractive, especially when older. Some 60 year old Filipinas are hotter than 20 year old American women.
-Less intelligent and less in tune with world news / events
-Less likely to be family orientated and hate men.

thebassandthehoopment wrote:Right Raindream333, because listing all those things doesn't make you just as guilty of stereotyping as the first asshole that posted. Your list is truly offensive, WAY stereotyped, and it sounds like you're bitter about something. I'm not saying American women are the best, but any of the problems you listed you can find in other countries, and more so here there's an obvious polarization of either amazingly beautiful women, or hideous and obese ones. Sounds like THIS person
-Is very angry
-Is very judgmental
-Is less open minded
-Is less mature
-Has an unrealistically low perception of American women
-Wants a simple life (Because wanting an enriched life is SO unattractive)
-Probably is physically unattractive as well so he needs to insult other cultures and people to make themselves feel better
-Is less intelligent/is close minded/is ignorant about the appearance and behaviors of women of other cultures
-Probably formed their opinions of American women based on what they see in the news, which indeed always shows fat, disgusting, criminal, slobs, but nonetheless ignorant

See? Stereotypes suck and are often incorrect. Every country has men and women who look and act differently. Get over it.

Punchmonkey wrote:This is a serious question, guys. I have dated women from many different countries over a number of years, and yet I have found that only American women can provide me with all the things I need in a relationship. Sure, Asian women are hot, as are some from Europe, but I don't want a submissive doormat who just automatically does everything I say because she needs a green card. I want a woman who is my equal, who will support me and take care of me, and yet put me in my place when I am out of line (which occasionally happens). I have found that only American women who preferably have a career of their own have enough understanding of life to find this balance, and can also hold a conversation.

I don't see why you guys are in such a hurry to go overseas, do you really want a submissive doormat who won't add anything of substance or value to your life?

BAAAAAAAAAAA! You want a woman to "put you in your place."

So BH, why are you here?

If you're here to defend American women and to attempt to make us all more PC, it's a futile task. American women get praised and defended to a ridiculous extent on all other English-speaking forums and in all other types of English-speaking media. This forum is a unique exception where a man can actually tell what he thinks without getting banned by feminists.

I and several other guys have acknowledged that some American women are nice in other threads. On the other hand, there are so many bitchy and rude American women that if a guy just wants to vent here a little bit, then that's understandable.

You seem to imply that you find it easy dating American women. If a few details about you were different, then you might not have found it so easy. Are you from a rich family?

This whole thread is quite stupid and aimed at proving people wrong instead of discussing viewpoints, fairly. I though you, Jackal, posted that you wanted to get rid of this he said she said, yet you still seem very focused on my first post.

A recommendation, you don't have to take it and since you seem very opinionated you probably won't, however, my advice is if you plan on having a DISCUSSION forum, why not focus on the topic at hand instead of some newbie poster? I come with experience of other cultures yet you seem VERY focused on my opinion that American women aren't the best, however, they're not the worst. Thought this was a place for opinion, obviously it is, if you're one of those people set on hating America.

I'm no nationalist, or feminist, nor a female, just trying to have a discussion about the task at hand and not focusing so much on me. Best of luck at staying on track on future forums, Jackal, you seem quite educated and have some thoughtful insight, however you are also quite hostile to others opinions, which doesn't make for a good discussion.

And what, dare I ask, viewpoints were not discussed? Wait, I get it now. Hes really a bat. Not a troll. Bats need to make screeching noises and hear echos because they are blind. Makes sense.

The new poster most likely is trying to derail the thread. I would think that this forum is for men to get advice on possibly having a relationship with a woman who actually wants to be with him and not for poor reasons as American women have when getting into a relationship. I have might very few American women who I would sort of consider to be with in a long-term relationship but because of the political climate it is just too risky.

There are many men here who might blanket many women in North America but for the post part what they are saying is true. The US media, the US government drastically changed things for Americans from the 1960s to the present. I would say lesser discrimination was a good thing. However, making women more equal than men was not a good thing.

The men at Happier Abroad most likely want to see a different perspective than one-sided America and to possibly (if possible) find a decent female to have a long-term relationship in the future. The thread is just telling the truth and I believe you think that women in other countries that are non-western act the same way.

Women in other countries are basically what women are in the US/CA. They are women. Inherently they all act the same way. However, based on what society women are born under, they could be told to be more polite towards me and realize that there is a natural difference towards men and women and how women should not seek to be equal (or more equal) than men. Because of this the US and other western countries such as the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada basically have caused women to be in control and cause several nations to basically shun males today. It is especially bad in the Scandinavian countries so I agree the US is bad but at least you have lesser women in politics than in Sweden for example.

Happier Abroad does enjoy good debate but really, Jackal has made a honest point. Why are you here in the forum when you believe that although American women are not as good as they were around 50 years ago, they are at least good to date and have long-term relationships. If this is how you feel than most likely you should find a forum where men help other men find decent American women. I have not found a forum such as that is legit/truthful but this might be a start for you.
