Hello, guys! I need some inputs from techies here. What do you guys know about cloud computing? Is it safe? Thanks!

I'm sure encryption makes it pretty safe.

I must mention though, I don't like it for the most part. That small, inherent lag is annoying as hell.
Too much hype for what it is.
1)Too much of one thing defeats the purpose.
2)Everybody is full of it. What's your hypocrisy?

Cloud services can be annoying in case internet connection is poor.

Expect wasting time for waiting when transferring larger files.

But otherwise it does not matter if your files are somewhere in a cloud, or if you maintain your own file server somewhere on the internet.

I find cloud computing the easiest way to store files, apps and other types of data. In my views, the biggest risk is giving up control of your data to someone else using different data centers in remote places. The most obvious way protecting against a third-party penetration is through encryption (as has been said here). So, you can use VPNs (on bestvpnrating.com you can find useful info about such services) for protecting your file and documents transferring.
