If He is talking through conduits and subsequent editors and translators, then obviously the message is going to be somewhat error-prone, hence the redundancy and error detection.Adama wrote:Then you might as well forget everything about God and the Bible if you are going to ignore Paul. The same God who wrote Genesis through Moses as the conduit, also wrote Corinthians through Paul.Cornfed wrote:I don't think sex with whore-class females would be counted as fornication. Paul may have had something against it but he seems to be the only one. Having a caste of whores prevents men from turning regular females into sluts and adulteresses, and so guards against sin.

Vent your rants and raves here about whatever makes you mad, angry or frustrated.
Then you do not believe that God is God because you deny Him power.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16
Here's John on whoremongering. Do you think visiting prostitutes might be construed as such?
Revelation 21:8 - But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Any time there is sex, there is supposed to be a marriage:
Exodus 22:16 And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife.
Maid means virgin, betrothed means engaged, lie with means sex.
BTW, salvation is by grace through faith alone. That is why a person could probably commit all of those sins and still be saved, because salvation is a gift of God through belief in His Son. If you go to hell, it is because you didnt believe (you thought it was by works or some other heresy). There is no one who is free from sin, except Jesus. Anyone and everyone knows that. Therefore the only one who could ever get into heaven by being a good person is Jesus. Is this not obvious that only God could be the person who is completely without sin? There is no human who can do that. And being unbelievers, you don't even know what many sins are (cause you haven't read the Bible because you don't believe it). How are you going to avoid sinning when you don't even know which sins you're committing? And why would you risk hell by trying to imagine that something is not sin when it clearly is, such as fornication, or visiting a hooker?
Fornication (noun) - Voluntary sexual intercourse between two unmarried persons or two persons not married to each other.
Clearly, that would include "whore-class" females, especially if you are not married to her.
Is that the definition know to be used throughout the Bible?
Traveller is talking out of his ass. That is not the correct definition for the biblical use of the word.
Yes, of course it has changed. Fornication used to be about eating cranberries and stuff. Now it means stuff about sex. So you can safely ignore this definition.
Well then what do you think the biblical definition is?
The English dictionary clearly defines fornication as sex between unmarried people/sex before marriage.
There are lots of different English dictionaries. Just because one defines a word in a particular way doesn't mean we are required to retrospectively define words from ancient languages that some translator has used the word to translate in the exact same way. The same dictionary probably defines adultery as sex between married persons and someone other than their spouse. In fact in the Bible and in almost all societies is is more narrowly defined as sex between a married woman and a man other than her husband.
That's incorrect. You just defined adultery, not fornication. Fornication is sex between a man and a woman outside of marriage. If marriage is involved, especially for the woman, then the sex is adultery.
10 And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
Omg! What are you talking about?! Put to death for having sex?! Well if you want to have some safe fun - visit a strip bar! Feel the nightlife without furnication! (Lol) I often go to Zavist strip bar in St. Petersburg, having great time without sex but close about 0_0
