"Arrests follow Bulgarian riots
Troops patrol streets of Katu Nitsa after death of teenager sparked ethnic clashes."
Although this shouldn't be taken as a reason not to go to Bulgaria--it's simply a good reason not to go to this particular small village in Bulgaria!
Funny, I was speaking to a Bulgarian girl yesterday and she says that Bulgaria has more problems now than it did before, because there's more poverty, criminality and corruption. Her parents look back upon the Communist years (pre-1991) fondly, with the 1990's apparently being filled with problems as Bulgaria made the transition from communism to capitalism.
