I was born and raised in Germany so I can give you guys some perspective. I have also spent a couple years in major US cities.

German women are more introverted than American women. German women are less open to meeting strangers. If you take public transportation for example you will notice that nobody ever initiates a conversation with anyone they don´t know.

German women don´t get hit on as much as American women so that´s true. Your average German girl doesn´t expect to only date 6ft2 model looking doctors so she will feel less entitled compared to American girls. However above average looking German girls are just as bitchy as hot American girls. The reason being German girls are very plain looking. There aren´t many ugly girls, but not a lot of hot girls either. They look more "natural". So if the bleached blonde pornstar bombshell girl with fake tits is your thing then don´t move to Germany. You won´t find them here.

German girls make better girlfriends, but getting one night stands with them is pretty much impossible. It´s all about having the right group of friends that introduce you to girls. Cold approaching doesn´t work in Germany....at all. That´s why nobody is doing it. German women are even less open to being approached by strangers compared to American girls.

All in all it´s just as difficult to get laid in Germany as it is in the States. It´s also harder to get an attractive girlfriend there because the vast majority of girls are very plain looking. The ones that are above average have all the power and they act just like hot bitchy American girls. If you can´t get laid in the States you won´t get laid in Germany. Simple as that.

On Swiss women:

I feel sorry for any man that has to live in Switzerland. Swiss women have gotta be the ugliest women on the whole planet and it´s a very boring country.

As to your comment. I guess being non german this does not apply to me. Women talk to me all the time on public transport. Often they will initiate the conversation.

Example. I was on a train yesterday for 50 minutes. It was a busy travel day for the long weekend. A very pretty 28 year old girl asked me if the seat next to me was taken. It was not so she took it. She was small and had a heavy bag to put in the overhead and I made a point of not offering to help her. She noticed I was reading an english book and asked me if I came from the UK. I told her no, Australia. She asked me why I was in germany. I told her it was the best country I had ever visited and I planned to live in Germany now. She actually laughed.

So she asked me how I could say that since so many germans would kill for the chance to live in Australia. I closed my book and we talked for the solid 50 minutes over a very wide range of issues. I included the issues of the man hatred of the western women. She was totally shocked at what I told her. For example I told her about how a woman napalmed her husband and burned him to death and Cheri Blair gave her an award. I asked he how she thought men felt about that since NO ONE denounced cold blooded murder vigilantee style. She commented the men must be VERY upset.

So....of course there was no plan to "chat her up" etc since we were just passengers on the same train for an hour. But she was intelligent, inquisitive, quite good looking, and very interested to talk to someone like me who could tell her things she did not know. It happens for me on a regular basis. I have had women give me their phone numbers on trams. Not the quality I would like to date but it does happen to some men.

Actually having 1st hand experience with some of the things that are being discussed on HappierAbroad makes me see that the vast majority of posters on here are completely full of shit, delusional and it´s not a credible source for getting information about dating abroad at all.

I was replying to the comment that people do not talk on public transport usually. Though this might be true of native germans it seems not to be true for me.

I never equated talking to women on public transport to "getting laid like a rock star". And that is VERY clear in my comment. I was merely reporting a conversation I had yesterday morning on public transport in Germany. I made it VERY clear that it was just conversation on a train.

I have also posted here that I have NEVER dated a german woman. The closest was an ITALIAN woman who moved to germany as a child. In the last 4 years I have had 5 "favs". Two were just short term and three lasted longer than a year. I have dated other women as well and none of them turned into "favs". Indeed, my fav#1 lasted 2.5 years on and off. We are still friendly. She wants more babies. I am hoping she will change her mind. We split 18 months ago now but she has had no luck finding a husband who is will to have children. And time is running out for her. I have told her if she EVER gives up on more children to please call me first.

As far as "getting laid like a rock star". I have NEVER claimed that ANYWHERE. Indeed I have noted that in marriage I would have made a celebate MONK look like a rock star. That I have managed to find some women to date in the UK and Germany is a very nice change from when I was married.

So please be specific as to what you think I have said that is BS. When I wish to rebut someone I actually QUOTE THEM. Perhaps you might like to adopt a similar practice. It works very well.

I have also noted here that I date in the 30-35 range mostly. I have not dated a woman under 30 in germany as I am 48. The under 30s really are not very appealing to me due to lack of topics to talk about. I noted this woman was 28 on the train yesterday.

Sounds great, I much prefer natural looking women and don't like the ones covered in makeup with blonde hair and the "pornstar" look. This is why I love German women.

As for your comment on Switzerland, I have to disagree. I have met a few Swiss women and they were really beautiful. Also how is it a boring country? They have some of the world's best scenery and snow slopes for winter sports. I guess if you have zero interest in nature then you might find it boring. However, I'm a nature freak so it is my idea of heaven. Can't imagine anything better than hiking on top of the alps or skiing/snowboarding in winter. Not to mention their beautiful lakes for swimming and kyaking in summer. If you are a city person, then I suppose Switzerland isn't going to be the place for you. But for nature lovers it is paradise.

Yeah whats up with that? Whenever I tell Europeans I'm moving to Europe they are like "why would you leave Australia?!" as if i'm crazy. They all seem to think its heaven on earth. Sure the landscapes might be nice, but that's where it ends. Its the "culture" (or there lack of) and the people that ruin it.

I do not speak German like a native and so women know as soon as I open my mouth I am not German. Mostly I am pinned as Dutch. Apparently my german has a dutch accent. When I say I am from Australia pretty much every woman would like to talk to me. I guess because I am "different". That is NOT about getting laid. That is just about being inquisitive as Germans have a VERY distorted view of Australia. The Australian PR machine seems to have done a good job here. So I do get approached a lot by women living in Germany just to talk about Australia once they realise I am not German. I look "german" until I open my mouth.

That said. Because I very often eat alone in restaurants I am OFTEN hit on in restaurants and OFTEN it is the waitresses themselves. The waitresses are OFTEN women from the east who are looking for a man. German women do waitressing jobs as well but a LOT of the time it is foreign women. Being a waitress in a decent restaurant is a very good place to find single men. Thats why they are doing these jobs. Also, as a woman looking for a man, hanging out in restaurants is a good way to find single men who have money to spend.

For people who do not live in Germany I remind you that "restaurants" and "bars" are one and the same thing in Germany for the most part. So it is very normal for women to be there with their friends socially while keeping an look out for single men like me eating in the restaurant. Women often come up to me and talk to me when I am eating alone. Their first question is usually "why are you eating alone" which is a good lead in for me to tell my "elevator pitch". And in my target group, 30-35, if a woman approaches you in a restaurant she is already interested.

It is not like this happens every time, or even every 10th time. I eat out a lot as the food is cheap and there seems no point trying to cook for myself past a microwave meal.

I am NOT "getting laid like a rock star" but some of the women I have dated over the last 4 years have been "super model" quality. Especially fav#1. She has been the one constant in my life for 4 years. All the others have come and gone as they are looking for husbands and babies. If I was willing to lie to a woman and tell her I wanted more babies I would be married in a flash.

Guys who eat alone in America are considered pathetic losers in the eyes of women, not so in Germany. The women in Germany may even approach a guy if he is eating alone! That would never happen in the US in a million years.

Exactly, even more so if you are with other females as they think you must be alright if other females want to talk to you.

You know what the funny thing is here? When i'm in a relationship I actually have more women interested in me than when i'm single! When women see me with another woman, many of them are suddenly more interested. Perhaps they think she might only be a friend? I don't know.
