Should a person still be holding dollars during that economic meltdown? Or would it be better to put it all into silver (and/or gold) ahead of the crisis?

Do you expect a QE4+? Or a mass devaluation of the purchasing power during the next crisis?

Or do you expect a complete dollar collapse as a result of a joint-effort between Russia-China, and then Japan needs to sell to prop up its own economy, which ultimately causes other nations to unload their bonds and a lack of buyers triggers a complete collapse of the USD?

Its been said by many people commodity and interest rate derivatives will be the cause of the next crash.

Basically, the next financial crisis will be caused by low oil prices(oil derivatives). Wall street banks are heavily invested in the oil industry which will cause many banks to go bankrupt. Dr. Jim Willie calculates wall street bank loses will be in the trillions which is being covered up by the Fed. Its believed oil prices will remain low for many years when Iran doubles oil production in a few months. There will be no economic recovery.

When you think about the great depression, you think of all the footage of bread lines and abject poverty. But think about this. What news service is going to run around shooting footage of all the people doing well during the depression?

The collapse is already happening. Somewhere, some people who were more exposed to risk lost their homes. Some lost their shirts and went bankrupt. There's been quite a few leaps from tall buildings out here.

For others, a few things may feel a bit more expensive and life goes on like normal.

It's going to get worse. Some more people will lose their homes and shirts... somewhere...

For the rest. Life will go on like normal. Eggs may be a bit pricey.
