Reloading Philippines Cards Online

Postby ladislav » September 27th, 2007, 12:56 am

Hi guys,

I am using this service to reload my Philippine cards online while I am away and also to reload Philippine friends' cards.

http://www.aryty.com

It is a bit hard to sign up if you do not have a US cellphone. I don't, so I had to email them and then they walked me through the process. Now it is activated.

Gone are the days when I had to ask Filipinos to reload for me there. Now I can reload online.

Speaking of cellular service there (GSM obviously), which is the best company to go with and how are people billed there? What are the data prices? Are BlackBerrys common?

The two main carriers are Smart and Globe. Smart seems more reliable and both are around the same price. I use Smart too. Most people use prepaid cards that they load up which you can get almost anywhere. Or they load them up at cashier counters almost anywhere from a seller's phone directly.

Texts are around 1 peso each, but calls cost 7 pesos per minute.

Is this a trusted site?
Can I pay with paypal?

Can I load a mobile phone of a filipina from this site?

Please, anyone having an idea, of 'how much' internet can someone buy, for use with mobile phones in Philippines?
Any clues, megabytes per dollars/euros?

I use smart pinoy load:

https://www.smartpinoyload.com/

It's very easy. You just select the load you want and pay for it with PayPal or a credit card. The price is a little more than buying it at a kiosk in the Philippines, but it's convenient to use when I am short of cash or don't want to go out and buy load.

However, the site doesn't let you buy load if you're in the Philippines, only if you are in other countries. But I can get around that by using a VPN proxy that will show my location from a Western country.
