Any thoughts on Macau?

Post by GooMacgle »

I have an opportunity to spend about a month in Macau, maybe longer. I don't see Macau mentioned on this forum much. Anyone been there and have any thoughts about the women there or the pros and cons of Macau? For reference, I've been to Hong Kong, Beijing, and Qingdao, so I'm not totally new to the China scene, just have never been to Macau. I met a really nice Macau lady in Singapore once, but that's about it.

Thanks for any insight.

Mac

I spent 3 weeks in Zhuhai, Macau's sister city in mailand China. You can check it out: it's a neat city by Chinese standards, designed to be some sort of garden city for Guangzhou commuters. Nice seafront, a couple of good bar streets and, from what I heard (but never checked out), a great P4P scene :)

I was in Macau a few years ago when my mother's ex-boyfriend (an extremely rich Macau businessman with Chaozhou/Teochew roots, has a position in the Chongqing municipal government, powerful political and possibly black gang connections) took us there to see his office and the city etc.

The city is a lot smaller and not as noisy as HK. The people finish work and eat pretty late like in other areas of Guangdong and Hong Kong, but there is less of a nightlife apart from the casinos and resorts.

Some nice Portuguese buildings and many of the street names are still Portuguese. Didn't really interact with the people there so not too sure about the social and dating scene. Air was quite a bit cleaner than Hong Kong due to a lower population.

I don't know about Macau women because I have not met any. However does Cecilia Leung count?
