IF you have been to Thailand, done Bali and bought the T-shirt in Vietnam, consider Palawan, one of 7,107 islands belonging to the Philippines that's just been named the world's top island by readers of CN Traveler magazine.

About an hour's flight from Manila, Palawan's virtue lies in the fact that it remains largely uncolonised by international hotel chains and developments – and consequently heaving throngs of fellow tourists.

Along with its lagoons, beaches, and dramatic limestone cliffs, one of its most astounding natural features can also be found in the capital city of Puerto Princesa, an 8 km (5 miles) subterranean river that snakes through an underground cave system.

Not surprisingly, dominating the list of top islands in the world is Hawaii, which landed three spots in the top 10 ranking for Maui, Kauai and Big Island.

Interestingly, the second highest-ranked island doesn't hail from French Polynesia or the Caribbean, but...South Carolina.

A short drive away from Charleston, Kiawah Island is described as a small barrier island on the Atlantic coast that can feel like it's "a world away."

The destination is particularly popular for golf enthusiasts, as it's home to a sprawling 90-hole golf resort.

Here are the top 10 islands according to readers of CN Traveler:

1. Palawan, Philippines
2. Kiawah Island, South Carolina, USA
3. Maui, Hawaii, USA
4. Kauai, Hawaii, USA
5. Bazaruto Archipelago, Mozambique
6. Great Barrier Reef & Whitsunday Islands, Australia
7. Santorini & Cyclades, Greece
8. St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands
9. Kangaroo Island, Australia
10. Big Island, Hawaii, USA

Some chain hotels are already building 5 star resorts there. Philippines would be like another Thailand in coming years

Yep. I'm :)

I'm telling you the elites have some huge plans for The Philippines. All elite publications are going full throttle on Philippines. Here, just today again..

Lonely Planet Tags the Philippines as One of the ‘Countries to Visit in 2015′

Say what you will about Manila, but the Philippines is undeniably still one of the best places to go for a vacation. The beaches are world-class, the people are hospitable, and there’s something to do for every kind of adventure thirst.

That’s why it comes to no surprise that Lonely Planet, the largest travel book guide publisher in the world, included the Philippines in its list of “Top 10 Countries to Visit in 2015.” The list is included in the publisher’s Best of Travel 2015, a collection of regions, cities, countries, and best-value destinations to visit in the coming year. The lists were compiled by by Lonely Planet’s staff, authors, bloggers, travelers, and tweeters, and refined by in-house travel experts. The list is based on topicality, excitement, value, and a “special x-factor.”

The Philippines was ranked #8 for its “dive-tastic coral reefs, sunbathe-ready white sands, swaying palm trees and nipa-palm thatched huts. Plus in 2015 the government is laying on all sorts of special events to raise the profile of the archipelago. And if there’s one thing Filipinos know how to do, it’s party – expect street parades, food festivals, sports tournaments and live music. Now that Philippine Airlines has gained approval for direct flights to Europe, America and Australia, why wait?”

Aside from the Philippines, Singapore, Namibia, Lithuania, Nicaragua, Ireland, Republic of Congo, Serbia, St. Lucia, and Morocco were included in the list.

Even Ceasers palace plans to built a huge casino in Manila.

There are already 4 huge casinos being built right now in Philippines, if we add Ceasers Palace to it, it will surely over take Vegas, Singapore and compete with Macau...Plus others Casino groups are showing interests.

We know whenever Elite want to hype up a country, they put a Casino around. They don't care for common man but for some other agendas.

Changing skylines of Manila and 500+ sky scrappers are on the way
