Recently, I've been noticing posters, including Winston, who mention Taiwan being a carbon copy of the US regarding the social culture and the dating scene. In both countries, women are very standoffish towards strangers and don't want to meet new people except through mutual friends; and the social culture in Taiwan and America is very cliquish, so it's hard for outsiders to meet new people. Plus, both have "live to work" mentalities, where people's lives are centered around work.
These are just the basics about each one. So this post is regarding one aspect in particular. Do single men outnumber single women in both America AND Taiwan?

One article Winston wrote, it does mention that in Taiwan every desirable woman is either taken or super picky, and it also states that men outnumber women in the bars & clubs in Taiwan.
It is not easy to find a good wife in Taiwan and South Korea.
As a fact many men from Taiwan and South Korea are looking for a wife from abroad, usually from other Asian countries.
What I have seen so far, while living in Japan since over 30 years, Taiwan and South Korea are indeed a bit complicated. Both little countries do not really have such a big population, but cities are crowded, overpopulated, it is about living under narrow conditions.
I think, all in all Japan is better in any way, like income/working conditions, behavior of women and still Japan is not such a small space like Taiwan or South Korea. Especially in South Korea, due to long working hours and not so high pay, both, men and women are known to be aggressive to each other.
Super-picky? For sure it cannot be worse than in Western countries. However both countries are suffering of Western feminist influence since the end of WWII and Korean War.
Yes, there are more men than women in bars/clubs in Taiwan, but this is not the way in Asia to look for a good woman for a long-term relationship.
