Why You Should Go To The Philippines Now

Postby Taco » Sun Dec 27, 2015 5:42 am

Author Matt Forney gives 4 reasons you should go to the Philippines soon.

1. The Philippines will soon have an obesity epidemic
2. Filipinas are becoming sluttier and bitchier
3. Australian tourists are ruining the Philippines
4. The Philippines is becoming a flashpoint for the U.S.-China conflict

I'll reply to the 4 points of concern.

1. Fast food obesity is mostly an issue in 1st and 2nd tier Philippine cities
2. Luzon women have always had a bad reputation
3. Foreign tourists from every country are having a negative impact not just Australians
4. WW III is rapidly approaching and there will likely be a flashpoint in 2016, travel will be restricted

This guy's article is totally lame, except maybe the fat part, but you don't need to wait 10 years as it's already an issue. Basically he is touting his expertise after only being there for a few months so that he can create some kind of money out of it for by selling his 'wisdom' to ignorant Western men who don't know any better regarding the country as it really is. Aussies have been coming to PI for decades and there were more in the past then there are now, totally bad info. The ones ruining it would be more NE Asians like Chinese/Koreans/Japanese as they don't pay attention to their spending habits and inflate prices. Plus the bars get retro fitted to their nightlife tastes, which are totally lame and boring. Thus NE Asians don't like the Western bar feel and Westerners don't like the Asian bar scene, so basically one will be dying out and from what i notice it's the Western bars that are losing out. Arabs are annoying too and becoming more prominent also then the past and they only like fat chicks so you can see where that nightlife goes. Annoying drunk Aussies are the least of PI's concerns. Personally I find American military personnel roaming around more annoying then Aussies.

The women have been going down the tubes for a while now, probably over a decade now, with acceleration within the last 5 years or so due to increased internet speeds and the low cost smart phone/tablet mixed with various social apps. Filipinos are not much different to Americans now in regards to they just copy the worst of America and it's values and make them even worse! It's all out of control consumerism and materialism nowadays here plus dealing with the typical low-educated ignorant masses. Mix it all together with an inefficient, corrupt government with a country full of bad infrastructure that never gets better and that's the Philippines in a nutshell nowadays. This country's heyday as a Western place for being a p***y paradise was up to the late 90's/early 00's. It's slowly degraded from that point onwards. Blame globalism for the most part and all the negatives that get promoted through it.

I wouldn't recommend coming to this country nowadays to find a women or live. Maybe just for a visit occasionally but I'd go else where. I'm only here cause I feel this is a better place for my daughter to go to school rather than back in the states, as I feel it's even worse there. I'll be leaving once I feel I don't need to be here however. I'll probably be stuck having to deal with country in one way or another throughout my life because of my daughter but I'll be limiting that as much as necessary. This country is basically one big turd but with colored sprinkles all over it to make it look nicer.

I think your assessment of the Philippines is accurate for Manila and Luzon only. I wouldn't want to live there and I don't know how you can stand it. However, there's some small cities in the Visayas that see few foreigners and still have some charm. I'm almost 50 and the Filipinas here still flirt with me even when my wife is with me.

Filipinas on dating sites are certainly awful these days for the most part. Whenever I'm in Philippines (I've only been to Manila and some other parts of Luzon) the girls on the ground are much more pleasant than the ones you find online. I'm not saying you're wrong, Taco, since I can't compare Luzon girls with Visayas girls from personal experience. But I don't see most girls in Luzon being awful. They are on the dating sites, but then dating sites usually attract bad women. I remember last time I was there, a very sweet girl working in the airport was flirting with me. Hahaha. Though I have to balance this by mentioning that my reason for going was to meet this hot girl who turned out to be an emotionless bitch. (Just for the record, I attribute her bitchiness to her being hot instead of being a Luzon girl.)

I followed Matt Forney's reports when he was in Philippines and they were laughable. I think he was in the Philippines for one month or 6 weeks at the most and split his time between Davao and Manila. He spent the majority of his time in Davao. He was terrified of the Philippines when he arrived, because it was his first time outside the USA. He dated little and even threw in the towel on dating Filipinas and said they were all the same, so stuck with one. Now he's written a guide to the Philippines as a poosy paradise. He knows little about Filipinas, and the Philippines. Just about anyone on this site probably knows more. The fact that he thought that Australians were ruining the Philippines, and didn't mention the Koreans just shows how little he knows and how little he even researched this.

Mr. S it's great to see you back. I have to agree with everything you said about the Philippines. Your assessment of the Philippines getting much worse yearly is 100% correct. I had thought I wanted to retire here, but now have serious doubts that it will be an acceptable place to live.

Taco, where do you live in Visayas? About 5 years ago I lived there with my girlfriend and really enjoyed it. I've only been back there briefly once since then. Every time I come back to Phil, I can see more deterioration. I see the interest in Western men is waning. I believe most Pinays would rather get their money the easy way: from the internet or the Koreans. If you don't notice the deterioration, then you're clueless.

Re: Why You Should Go To The Philippines Now

I think the whole country is going to shit, not just Luzon. I regularly travel to all the major cities and notice the differences every year. It would be one thing if Filipino native culture was being propped up and the country as a whole was doing better because of their own initiative. However, it's being taken over by the globalist NWO machine and the same BS that crashed the USA and other western countries in the late 90's and 00's the insane flawed financial mechanics are being introduced here. Thus, easy credit everywhere and trying to get everyone into some kind of debt whether they can afford it or not. There is a movement to introduce a national ID card for all citizens, which will ultimately be used to track people as well as create a credit system to monitor individuals and whatever else they want to use it for.

There is the ILLUSION of improvement here but it's all smoke and mirrors. If you think more consumerism in the form of malls, shopping plazas and fast food joints are a sign of progress without the infrastructure to support it, then you're one of the easily manipulated sheeple that encompasses 99% of the country's population. They are actually getting rid of typical male type nightlife in favor of creating a mall or shopping plaza in it's place or a family style type restobar, which are boring and lame. The last vestiges of nightlife in most cities now occur in side alley's where run down KTV bars exist or Sari-Sari stores where the guys just hang around outside to drink. This is happening in the 3rd and 2nd tier cities, basically nightlife is being eliminated. The 1st tier cites such as Manila, Cebu the nightlife is being toned down and either its high end to attract high rollers and show off or it's very tame in comparison to just a few years ago. PI nightlife has never been much to begin with in comparison to other Asian countries but it's gotten progressively worse in the last few years to the point where I don't even go out to bars or clubs anymore, seriously I don't. They are just a waste of time and money, plus boring. Yes, girly bars still exist and AC isn't going away anytime soon but I think they are slowly being phased out or changed into a more tamer version of 'male' entertainment. I'd be surprised if in 10 years they survive in Manila and Cebu, while AC will be considerably smaller and more regulated. Male entertainment has gone virtual with the CAM models and social media, old school physical girly joints are dying out for the most part.

I don't think PI is worth looking into as a first option anymore for men, not because there are too many foreign men here, actually I think there are less nowadays than in the past. It's more so because of the PI being taken over as a globalist consumerist stooge country. It's becoming more like the worst elements of the USA every year. Plus I notice the women are not as nice and flirty as they were a few years back. Well, I guess it could be because I'm now in my 40's and look a little older than when I was running around here in my 30's. However, I don't think I look terribly over the hill now than I did 5+ years ago. Somethings different and it encompasses more than what I just mentioned above.

If one wants to get away from the scourge of Western dominated globalism in the form of forced consumerism and oblivion of the host culture in favor of global corporate brands, I'd stick to the BRICS countries as well as former soviet satellite countries. All the other countries in the world have been compromised or in the process of being 'Westernized' and within 10 years they will just be satellite countries and be cookie cutter corporate lookalikes whether you jump from one country to the next. Especially if these trade treaties take affect like the TPP and TAFTA.Yeah, there may be some differences still but the globalist machine is really stamping out 'diversity' in the form of promoting 'multiculturalism' 'feminism', 'gay rights', it's a very sly tactic to introduce a world socialist totalitarian corporate system of control.

I really feel like I got out of the states only to get caught in a honey-trap in the long run. I should have kept my options open with cold weathered climates like Eastern Europe as an option to work and live rather than get sucked into the Asian countries with tropical weather and easy meaningless sex. Although the latter is or was fun, it's not a decent long term plan of living if you want to meet quality individuals and be in a country with solid living and business potentials. Oh well, live and learn. I'll leave PI in my late 40's most likely, all the wiser at least and none to worse hopefully other than age and some regret.

I've never left the forum, I just don't post or go on it much anymore cause for one reason it's not a decent source of information anymore like it was in it's first 5 years or so of it's operation. Nowadays, there are many more sources of information for overseas living and traveling and much of it is better written and higher quality content. Personally, I don't feel like spending much time writing high quality content for someone else that is monetizing it and I'm getting no financial kickback. If I wanted to write high-quality opinion pieces about various Asian countries or PI in particular I'd create my own blog or forum and monetize it myself so that I feel like I'm actually accomplishing something to further myself along rather than someone else. As much as I once enjoyed the forum, I can't relate to most of the posters anymore and the few I can I don't have the time to build up any superficial online relationship. I also feel most of what I would want to write about would appear negative to people or too criticizing and thus why post pieces that will be misunderstood or not appreciated or labeled as someone who is just overly negative or whatever? How many times can one reiterate that PI is now a non desirable place to go to both for women and fun/leisure? There's only so much one can say and prove with other source materials to back up whats going on in this country. The country is being decimated by global corporatism and Western bankers while being a pawn of the USA in it's Pacific scheme to contain China. If war or aggression were to ever occur in the future, the Philippines would be a number one target of China both for retaliatory purposes but also as a strategic central location to secure the Pacific trade routes as well as a stepping stone to potentially invade neighboring hostile countries and even push through to Australia and New Zealand. Don't think it can happen? China is getting ready to potentially spring such a plan in the mid to late 2020's.

Quality Filipino women are leaving in droves to emigrate out of the country, by any means possible. The ones who can't afford to or don't have any educational skills to work overseas in a profession are inundating the dating websites and attempting to find any dude that will play the sucker and marry to take them away from this shit hole country. However, the quality of the women is much lesser than when I first came here. Many more are getting chunky and less attractive. Many are stupider and ignorant than before. Like I said, the decent ones can find ways to leave on their own and will hook up with a dude once they get to their new host country. The girls left over in the PI are literally ignorant stupid dipshits who have no education or communication skills or princess girls from well off middle to upper class families who would never date a foreigner to begin with cause they might appear to others to be a prostitute or something. So if brown, uneducated country girls who need to be taken cared of for the rest of their life and may only look good until they hit their mid 20's is your thing, then come on down and f**k your life up! I almost did, except I'm still in control of my destiny somewhat. I never married the bitch. If you want something of the female persuasion of higher quality with better long-term mileage on the odometer, find another country. Just cause PI women are 'easy' doesn't mean they are worth it in the long run. Going to Goodwill to find the occasional decent low priced piece of clothing is doable after spending a while combing the store shelves and racks, but who was the previous owner and how many times was it worn? How will it hold up in the long run, being a cheap used piece of clothing? That's a Filipina nowadays. I've been had, took the easy road to sin and fun, paid the price, albeit it not forever but it's a slow burn torture until it's finally over with in another 5 yrs or so. Thus, don't make the same mistake I made brothers by coming here and thinking a Filipina is going to give substance and meaning to your overly bleak Western existence, it may make it worse in the long run if you choose poorly, and that's easy to do me thinks.

Anyways, I'm not planning on living here forever and any dude that thinks the country (PI) is a safe haven from corporate globalism and the march of the USSA is a loon. I would not set up long term roots here, just short time visits. I think maybe investing in a condo or two if you can afford it and rent it out to people in prime locations within Manila is maybe doable, but other than that I'd completely bypass the country as a viable alternative option to live outside of one of the Anglo countries. If in the next decade I sense things are going from bad to worse I'll be hightailing it out of here for sure before I'm really ready to do so if I have to.

Enjoy the long post cause I probably won't be writing another long one anytime soon unless something of significance happens or someone begs me to comment about something in particular in PI.

BTW, I'm not jaded; just a realist relating personal experiences and observations.

Taco, where do you live in Visayas? About 5 years ago I lived there with my girlfriend and really enjoyed it.

I live in 4 hours north of Cebu City.

The west coast of Cebu, Negros and Panay Island are good places to go if your trying to get off the beaten path of tourists and expats. Bacolod, was voted as the best city to live in the Philippines recently. There's some mountain resorts and Gamefarms(fighting cocks) in Negros I'd like to check out sometime. The people in third tier Philippine cities are friendly although the cities not very well developed. You can still find a Cebuano girlfriend in about 15 minutes if that's what your looking for.

Just back from the Philippines for second time in 6 months so let me go through your 1-4 really fast. 1) cant argue its the rice pooch. You will meet fit Filipinas but they are becoming the exception. Eating cheap is always eating unhealthy. 2)Nope, can't agree with that. Location Location Location, if your trolling Mango square and Luzon you will find this. You can have it if you want but I found my jewel elsewhere.3)Australians...you mean like 60 year old with the fosters belly? Eurotrash is the scourge of the Philippines, namely Netherlands and Germany. They are everywhere a few good mostly just wankers young and old. That entitlement attitude they carry is just a joke. Koreans are a very close second they act their shit doesn't stink but in the end its all about the dollars youre just a wannabe Chinese get over it. 4) A few educated people I talked to mentioned the China/Philippines/USA Triage. We get a new president in a year, and for what I know China has territorial disputes with every SE Asian country in the area. I spent most of my time in the Cebu area and I would say the propensity to decent to trash is 20% to 80%. One last comment , who the hell is Matt Forney?

For serious men who are willing to put their hearts into wife-finding, I think Philippines is still a good place to search. It's far from ideal, but then so is every other country. Before going you want to be crazy prepared for it: money, language, legwork on dating sites, etc. It can eat you alive if you go alone and unprepared.

I've been four times, and now I realize it would be a shitty place to live long term. I lived there for two months and was bored out of my skull for much of it. It impacted me enough that one of my rules now is don't live somewhere without a purpose. Ideally, you have at least two: a job and a woman.

People trying to rip you off constantly or otherwise get you to part with your money is one of the worst parts. And everyone will try you. Taxi drivers are the worst. Living there long term would suck. And I'm not the type who thinks living on a beach is some paradise.

Philippines is easy mode for language and culture, but hard mode otherwise.

Mr S wrote:I think the whole country is going to shit, not just Luzon.

Another one of your epic anti-Philippines rants, Mr S? Come on be objective. What you have described in terms of socio-economic development, subservience to the US and the Atlanticist agenda and even the commercialisation of outdoor social life via malls and early-closing establishments, everything is applicable to most countries. It's a global trend. Everybody is manipulated sheeple. US, Italy, even the UK are going to shit from those points of view. If you want to know what the London nightlife amounts to (unless you have a million in the bank), last year my wife and I went to the "naughtiest cabaret night" in London, a £75 a head gig, naked performers and all, "what happens here stays here" sort of shit. While the acts weren't necessarily bad, dinner was pub-quality and served religiously at 7:30 and the whole thing ended before 11:30. That is, in time for most customers to catch the last train back home. Yoo-f**king-woo, so much for Bohemienne London.

Have you ever strolled through Marina Bay and the quays in Singapore? The only bars and clubs that don't close at midnight are those with a hefty entrance fee, or the boring (for me at least) KTVs in the designated red light areas. If your hormones are tickling you, you can always pick a tiny Indonesian with big breasts on one of the side streets and pay her 30 minutes later. If your definition of male nightlife is a strip bar joint where young girls lure punters in for overpriced cheap beer and free kisses on the cheek (everything else being negotiable), I am happy that crap is being suppressed at the fastest possible rate. I was in Geylang in Singapore, in Burgos in Manila and even in downtown Davao and those bars are beyond pathetic, even the relatively new and high-end ones catering for Korean and Japanese businessmen. I don't think they were any better back in the days. A bunch of semi-young single moms doing routine dancing to support their kids back in the province, while middle aged foreigners crack lewd jokes about what they would do to them. Not my definition of male nightlife. Much better to hit a club or a hotel and listen to some good music, and then do the Filipino favourite: the house party, drinking and "doing your thing" till the morning lights, better if in a large house on the beach. I have done that in Davao many times, with quality people and quality whiskey, and I have to say I enjoyed a ton more.

Mr S wrote:If one wants to get away from the scourge of Western dominated globalism in the form of forced consumerism and oblivion of the host culture in favor of global corporate brands, I'd stick to the BRICS countries as well as former soviet satellite countries.

I totally agree on the point that TPTB are enforcing globalisation and a single system of consumerism everywhere while touting the celebration of 'diversity' via multiculturalism, feminism, LGBT rights, etc. You couldn't have said it better.

I am not too sure the BRICS and the ex Soviet satellite countries are the kind of sanctuary you have in mind. Russians have an obsession for buying hard and partying hard and, like all northern countries, their way to socialise and interact with strangers (foreigners in particular) doesn't exactly strike me as more positive or healthier. Consumerism and globalism or not, the champions of living a laid back social life, surrounded by half-genuine human relationships are and always will be the "southern" countries: certain Latin American countries and the Philippines and maybe Indonesia in SEA.

Mr S wrote:I really feel like I got out of the states only to get caught in a honey-trap in the long run.

Be my guest in trying to live in a country where the average temperature is 5 degrees, the economy is in freefall and very few people speak decent English. It might be a good option for you, but definitely doesn't rock my boat. Plus, I have heard stories of expats who ventured in Romania, Ukraine and Lithuania with a serious life project in mind, only to be fleeced out of all their cash and even beaten up. As Winston himself realised many years ago, the veneer of social blissin those countries disappears fast and all you're left with is a very hard life. Would be better, maybe, if one had a few solid friendships they could leverage as they start making life plans in that country.

About meeting quality individuals, I don't know about you, but in Davao I met dozens of high quality individuals, most of whom are friends I meet several times a week. Assuming Davao doesn't even come close to the quantity of well-educated middle or upper middle class people, I am surprised you complain you didn't meet enough good people in the many years you spent in Manila, compared to the few months I've been living there.

Mr S wrote:I've never left the forum, I just don't post or go on it much anymore cause for one reason it's not a decent source of information anymore like it was in it's first 5 years or so of it's operation.

Since you seem to fly high with geopolitical and globalist themes, only to crash down on the usual "fun with the ladies" argument, what would be a desirable place to find and randomly date quality women, especially if you're not a Channing Tatum lookalike with a luxury condo and a sizeable wallet? Eastern European women would eat you alive. Latin American women share traits with Filipinas but the non-provincial, non-boring ones are a lot choosier and americanisation is progressing in leaps and bounds (especially in Mexico and Colombia, sad to say).

Lastly, for what I could see, the country (the Philippines) is not being decimated by global corporatism. Most companies who steer the local economy are largely local conglomerates and while some of them have a large component foreign participation (ie. Indonesian/Japanese part-ownership of PLDT), the Philippines are nowhere near a liberalised market as Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. If you indicate transnational corporatism as an evil, then the Philippines' inertia against this trend is a good thing, right?

Mr S wrote:Quality Filipino women are leaving in droves to emigrate out of the country, by any means possible. Going to Goodwill to find the occasional decent low priced piece of clothing is doable after spending a while combing the store shelves and racks, but who was the previous owner and how pmany times was it worn?

Oh no no no, you do sound jaded beyond repair, my friend :) I have always entertained positive toughts about the Philippines and, since I am now spending months in Davao and invested in a business, to sink into a negative, dark and fruitless mindset is a non-option. So I am certainly positively biased whereas you are negatively biased, and I can only speak out of my (limited) experience anyway.

My limited experience suggests me that:

  • quality Filipinos (assuming you mean well-educated, well-spoken/read and at least middle class) are still leaving in droves, but more and more of them are deciding to stay in the country and pursue a career locally; the BPO and IT sectors are still booming, wages and growth prospects are on the rise and the fact that they can always been (at most) a couple of hours flight away from their families is a plus for most of them;
  • true, said quality Filipinas would be biased or overly suspicious about hooking up with a foreigner; for those girls, the path to courtship is similar to what you would expect for a "good girl" in Europe or even the US several decades ago - show the best of yourself, show that you are a man of value who is falling for a woman of value, show your interest and your intention to commit, be firm but polite, and they are bound to notice you sooner or later. One can't complain not getting quality women if they're not prepared to put in some quality effort! I have personally met many top-quality women, perhaps not all in their primes, nonetheless a pleasure to talk to and have as friends. They told me many time I could be introduced to their (quality) friends, which I have politely declined since I am married and don't have time. The potential is there, though, in BGC just like in Davao City.
  • the dating websites will always be packed with suckers looking for suckers, with maybe a few notable exceptions; a twice-divorced man in his 50s will never have much of a chance compared to a fair-skinned young Filipino from an established family and a career as a lawyer, engineer or doctor. We have always known that, though, haven't we? You seem to point at the Philippines only as a good (or not even so good anymore) cheap p***y paradise, where in fact there's a lot more going on in the country, in terms of social interaction, lifestyle and even investment/business opportunities.

I am personally getting sick of living in an Anglo country, namely the UK. But that's material for another post.

If I were not to hear from you after this reply, I wish you the best and I wish you can find a place that suits you better in the next few years.

Re: Why You Should Go To The Philippines Now

Mr. S,

From what I know, you tend to be attracted to bars and drinking as a way to meet women in the Philippines. Well Winston too has posted pics of hundreds of Filipinas on this very forum. But overwhelming majority of them (read 95%+) are bar girls from poor areas of Visayas or Mindinao with very low education levels.

So many westernized foreigners seem put all their energy into places like Angeles City, Manila Bay Cafe/LA Cafe, Mango Square, Havana, Burgos, or else chase dirt poor uneducated girls deep in the provinces who are super desperate. And they use this as basis to form their opinions on all the women in Phils. They just blindly assume that middle class and above girls, especially those who are above average looking, are off limits too foreigners simply because they don't come nearly as easy.

Bar girls are preselected to generally not be good as longer term mates. On average, they are gonna have a much higher likelihood of single motherhood, be more mercenary (taker vs. giver), spoiled and jaded by so much foreign male attention, money, and meat injections, etc. That's my belief anyway and it holds for most if not all areas of the world.

I think your perception is sometimes quite distorted cus like Winston, you look at dating and mating opportunities in Phils. from the perspective of a barstool in a brothel area. Winston seems to manage to see beyond his personal experiences though and sense or feel the bigger picture. But you don't seem to see women as anything more than physical forms to be shagged.

Women can be decent or even great as friends too. For example, I am friends with Winston's Dianne and once in awhile I hang out with her in groups. I'm confident Falcon, Steve Neese, World Traveller, and of course Winston will agree that she's a decent person with many great qualities. Even if she has some unfavorable traits too, she seems to be an overall good person who is doing positive things in life. If nothing else, her track record suggests she's a stand-up mom just as your track record suggests you're a stand-up dad. So see, you guys actually have something in common lol.

Yet Winston says when you met up with him and Dianne, you completely ignored her and acted like she was invisible. When I wanted to introduce you to some engaging Filipinas like Ava Paige or even Ginger, you refused. So you are a man's man and maybe very MGTOW in outlook? You've become a very jaded man. What do you expect when you write off the all the world's women as good for nothing more than purely physical relationships at best.

As for dating sites, I think they can be excellent sources IF you are a very aggressive and skilled at filtering and put in the work (effort and time wise). You see, once in awhile, middle class, educated, giver types, and other higher value type females will put up a profile for a short period out of say curiosity or maybe cus she's fresh from a break-up w her first bf or maybe she's very curious and interested in certain foreigners. Such girls do exist. But you have to gain a decent instinct to identify them by mining profiles and then use some Filipino friendly techniques to court them (online at first).

Cold approaching can even work if you are stealth enough about it. Maybe you can even network and get some talented local wing women.
